General Job Description
Dogwood Industries is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Manager to lead and oversee the company's QC program across both manufacturing facilities in Sedro-Woolley and Everett. The QC Manager is responsible for developing scalable inspection and quality control processes, ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.2, AISC, and other applicable standards, and fostering a culture of high ethics and continuous improvement.
 
This role directly supervises the QC Supervisors and the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and serves as the senior leader for all inspection activities at Dogwood. The QC Manager will work closely with production, engineering, and project management teams, as well as with the Quality Management System (QMS) Manager, who serves as a peer focused on system-level quality management systems and process documentation.
 
The QC Manager will play a critical role in building Dogwood's long-term QC foundation and ensuring consistent execution of quality standards company-wide.
 
Duties &amp; Responsibilities

<li>Lead, mentor, and manage the QC Supervisors and CWI, setting expectations, providing training, and ensuring accountability for quality performance</li>
<li>Develop, refine, and implement scalable QC processes, procedures, and inspection plans to meet Dogwood's current and future production needs</li>
<li>Ensure consistent compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.2, AISC, customer requirements, and Dogwood's internal quality standards</li>
<li>Drive root cause analysis and lead corrective action processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence</li>
<li>Partner with production and engineering to proactively identify risks and implement solutions that reduce defects and rework</li>
<li>Represent Dogwood in customer and third-party inspections, audits, and certifications related to QC</li>
<li>Maintain and oversee the proper use of quality records, inspection reports, weld maps, NCRs, and other documentation</li>
<li>Ensure training and certification of welders and inspectors, including oversight of welder qualification testing through the CWI</li>
<li>Champion high ethical standards and quality-first culture within the production teams</li>
<li>Monitor key quality metrics and provide regular reporting to leadership</li>

Physical Requirements/Work Environment This position requires moderate physical activity in a manufacturing and office environment. Walking extended distances from location to location in the factory complex and meeting with people in noisy or congested areas will be a common occurrence. The employee must be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 40 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. Aerotek is hiring warehouse workers for a large manufacturer in Spokane Valley.
Job Duties: Will be assisting with shipping of products. Most of the day will be spent stacking bags of product onto pallets and then staging full pallets in the shipping area. This is a very physical job. Candidates must be able to be on their feet for the entire shift and be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs. There is an opportunity to get into forklift operating or leadership roles down the road.
Requirements: At least one year of previous warehouse experience is preferred, but not required. This is an entry level position and candidates with any sort of physical labor experience will be considered.

 Understand and follow all appropriate production procedures and work instructions
 Understanding of scanning procedure to effectively start and end production jobs using the data collection system
 Perform S-head threading machine functions (change chasers, work touchscreen, etc.)
 Operation of multiple machines to meet required expectations
 Loading and unloading of stainless parts to prevent mixing of mill and heat numbers
 Inspect and record quality according to specifications and procedures
 Perform constant visual quality inspection (torn or crooked threads, quality ream, etc.)
 Perform preventive maintenance and repairs required by operators as needed each shift, week or as directed by supervision
 Perform daily housekeeping processes and organization in the department
 Work on your own and with others to improve the operation in terms of safety, quality, productivity, and cost control
 Other responsibilities, as needed, to ensure the success of the S-head department operation and company as a whole
 
Requirements:
 High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent
 30-day transition from current role to set-up/operator responsibilities.
 Involvement with exit conversation of current role during this 30-day period
 Basic computer skills including general PC operation in Windows and data entry.
 Ability to use and read a scale/ruler up to 1/32 and basic inspection gauges (Rings, caliper, etc.)
 Excellent work habits including punctuality, attendance, and work ethic
 Ability to work individually and with others to continuously improve our company
 Standing, bending for entire shift, capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently, pushing and pulling bulky material and carts weighing up to 200 lbs., fine manipulation of hands for roll marking set up

Description:
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of hourly employees in multiple manufacturing departments to ensure the most efficient and economical performance of the operations in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. Primary areas of responsibilities include molding and machining areas and assembly.

 Additional Information 
The base hourly range for this position is $30.29 - $39.42. Base hourly rate offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills &amp; experience, job location, and internal equity.
