Quality Improvement Specialist
Reports to: Director, Population Health & Quality Improvement
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

The Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist plays a key role in strengthening quality, compliance, and operational excellence across behavioral health programs. This position partners with leadership and frontline teams to improve workflows, support accreditation readiness, enhance documentation quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that positively impact client care and organizational performance.
What You Will Do
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct audits of clinical documentation and operational processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Monitor quality trends, identify areas for improvement, and support corrective action planning
- Assist with regulatory reviews, audits, and accreditation activities, including CARF, DBH, and LBHA requirements
Process Improvement
- Support quality improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, documentation practices, and operational effectiveness
- Track projects, action items, and compliance activities to ensure timely completion
- Analyze data and prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that support informed decision-making
Training & Support
- Develop training materials, guides, and resources to support staff onboarding and ongoing quality education
- Provide support related to EHR workflows, documentation processes, and data integrity
- Collaborate with teams to improve clinical forms, templates, and documentation tools.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, quality improvement, auditing, or process improvement
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and technical writing abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Preferred
- Experience in behavioral health or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with CARF, DBH, LBHA, Medicaid, or other regulatory requirements
- Experience preparing for accreditation surveys or external audits
- Experience using the Credible Behavioral Health EHR
Certification
- Obtain Credible EHR Administrator Certification within 180 days of hire
