The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Research Professor (open rank) in Renaissance Italian Literature and Visual Culture to begin on October 15, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The department seeks a scholar in Italian literature and Italian Renaissance art history who will further their own research in collaboration with faculty in the department and elsewhere in the Division of Humanities. The selected candidate will 1) conduct research in their stated field of concentration under the mentorship of a faculty member, 2) participate in regular colloquia and workshops in the department, advise and mentor students in consultation with the department and 3) be in residence at the University of Chicago during the three quarters of the academic year. Depending on qualifications and departmental need, the selected candidate may be able to teach up to two courses per year.
The selected candidate will be appointed at the rank of Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, or Research Professor depending on previous experience and record of scholarly achievement. The initial appointment will be for a minimum term of three years, with longer terms possible depending on the rank of the selected candidate. Reappointment and promotion are possible upon successful review.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD in a field related to Italian Renaissance literature or art history, have an active scholarly agenda leading to a record of published work which makes important contributions to the applicant’s field, or have the potential to do so. Research Professor in Renaissance Italian Literature and Visual Culture (open rank)

The University Honors College and the Department of Political Science at Portland State University seek a Teaching Assistant Professor with a focus in Law and Courts with a strong commitment to undergraduate education. This is a non-tenure track faculty (NTTF) appointment for an individual whose responsibilities are primarily devoted to teaching. Expectations of the position will also include mentoring, advising, and service. Teaching Assistant Professor of Honors & Political Science 

The Assistant Director (AD) for Residential Education reports to the Associate Director for Residential Education and is responsible for oversight and leadership of 2-4 residentially-based Learning Communities (LCs) that house between 1300 to 1900 students (roughly one-third of the on-campus population). The responsibilities of this position include training, supervision, development, and evaluation of 2-3 frontline full-time professional staff members (including Area Coordinators and/or Residence Directors) and 1 Graduate Coordinator. As a member of the Residential Education Leadership Team, the AD is responsible for overseeing the administrative and management functions of their Campus Area, as well as assisting in the development of policies and procedures for the department. The AD supports the ACs/RD to establish Learning Communities that foster community and civic engagement, enhance learning, advance diversity and inclusion, and promote student health, engagement, and success. This is a required live-on position.&nbsp; Successful candidates will be subject to background check due to the live-in nature of this position. Assistant Professor of Public Administration
