Position Summary:
This position consists of highly responsible administrative work analyzing, processing and recording financial transactions relating to City payrolls, maintenance of employee payroll records, and leave-time activities. Work requires performance of technically complex tasks of more than average difficulty and insurance that accurate and proper application of federal regulations, state/county court requests, and City personnel directives governing payroll and benefits processing. This includes the generation and validation of payroll and pension checks, deposits etc. as well as transmission of electronic data files and reports to various agencies and providers.Tasks are performed under pressure of continuing deadlines and require a great amount of concentration and accuracy. <li>A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted at the City Manager’s discretion.</li>
</ul>
Certificates and Licenses:
<ul>
<li>A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation highly preferred.</li>
<li>Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and must be insurable by the City’s current insurance provider.</li>
<li>National Incident Management System (NIMS) training will be required according to the job duties and responsibilities within one (1) year of employment. ISO-100 &amp; 200.</li>

Key Responsibilities of a Payroll Coordinator:

What You’ll Bring as a Payroll Coordinator:

<li>3+ years of payroll experience; union or multi-state payroll experience is a strong plus</li>
<li>Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, or similar platforms</li>
<li>Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas</li>
<li>Strong understanding of labor laws, wage regulations, and union contract requirements</li>
