Purpose of the role
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring that payroll for nurses is processed accurately and on time, in accordance with agreed service levels. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with teams across the organization to achieve these objectives.
- Accurate Payroll Processing: Gather and accurately process hours worked within the required business and payroll systems.
- Employee Records Management: Record and maintain employee records and payroll transactions.
- Deadline Adherence: Ensure compliance with departmental deadlines and procedures.
- Timely Issue Resolution: Respond to and resolve payroll-related questions in a timely manner.
- Payroll Updates: Update payroll information for promotions, transfers, terminations, and new hires.
- Inquiry Resolution: Investigate and resolve inquiries from both external and internal clients.
- Payroll Tax Assistance: Provide support for payroll tax inquiries.
- Invoice Inquiry Resolution: Investigate and resolve invoice inquiries related to payroll.
- Wage Reporting: Responsible for providing wage reports to agencies.
- Departmental Training: Train new payroll staff.
- Onboarding Training Coordination: Schedule and coordinate new hire training for HCPs.
What we’re looking for
- Payroll Processing and Administration: Proven experience in processing and administering payrolls efficiently and accurately.
- Customer Service: Strong background in responding to inquiries promptly and accurately, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Process Improvement: Skilled in developing and refining payroll procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Report Preparation: Experienced in preparing payroll reports for management review and auditing purposes.
- Relationship Building: Expertise in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external clients.
Technical Knowledge
- Preparing and Processing Payrolls
- Updating and Managing Confidential Payroll Records
- Ensuring compliance with Laws and Regulations
