Essential Duties:

<li>Maintaining safety and security by making periodic inspections, conducting fire drills according to schedules, enacting safety procedures, and training residents and staff; ensures that licensing standards are always maintained; conducts house meetings for residents and staff meetings for direct care employees.</li>
<li>Hiring, directing, supervising, and training staff; coordinates staff schedules to coverage; conducts staff meetings; counsels and disciplines staff; evaluates staff performance and makes recommendation for compensation, promotion, transfer, or termination. </li>
<li>Developing policies, guidelines and procedures based on experience and need; follows DDD and Pillarpolicies and procedures as described in Division Circulars, PillarPolicy Manual and PillarGroup Home Policy Manual to respond to and report about emergencies, incidents, operational breakdowns or other individual or systematic concerns in a timely manner; may conduct investigations regarding unusual incidents or issues relating to health, safety, or general welfare of residents.</li>
<li>Taking lead role and participates in annual Licensing; participates in bi-annual Q&amp;A audits and responds to findings with written plans of corrections.</li>
<li>Maintaining ongoing communication with family, case managers and others; participates in case management conferences or other meetings relating to concerns of individuals; interacts with residents’ family members and friends and facilitates communications, coordinates activities with day program staff, professional consultants, representatives of other provider agencies; communicates with DDD staff as delegated by supervisor.</li>
<li>Implementing annual operating budget for the residential facility; monitors and approves all budgetary expenditures; secures and accounts for personal funds of group home residents; assists residents with money management and ensures that individual funds expended as desired.</li>
<li>Supervising upkeep of home in terms of safety, cleanliness, and comfort; coordinates maintenance and repair of home and all equipment; orders and maintains supplies as needed.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:

Summary 
A Resident Assistant is responsible for positively fostering a high-quality living and learning experience for residents. The Resident Assistant will complement a student’s academic goals and personal growth by serving as a positive role model and resource. 
Responsibilities 
Administrative: 
<ul>
<li>Must be able to attend weekly staff meeting. </li>
<li>Report for staff training approximately two weeks prior to Opening Day for the Fall semester, three to five days prior to the start of the Spring semester</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality. Informing your supervisor is not a breach of confidentiality and RAs are expected to keep their supervisors apprised of any potential problem. </li>
<li>Perform administrative duties such as incident reports, occupancy reports, damage billing, surveys, and reporting of maintenance issues.</li>
<li>Participate in RA selection, training, Open House, and other events as assigned</li>
<li>Attend all in-services, meetings, and events as assigned. This will generally include bi-weekly meetings with the supervisor and weekly staff meetings.</li>

<li>Identify and offer assistance to residents and colleagues on personal, academic, wellness, or other issues. </li>

<li>Coordinate and complete at least four (4) All-hall Programs per semester based on residential programming model. </li>

<li>Attend and support Campus-wide, Largescale, and Campus Partner events as scheduled or assigned. </li>
<li>Complete Intentional Interaction requirements as assigned.</li>
<li>Complete 2 bulletin boards per semester, 1 must be educational. </li>
<li>Complete 1 set of door tags per semester. </li>
<li>Encourage and involve residents to assist with the development and implementation of programs. </li>
<li>Complete and submit a Program Proposals by given deadline. </li>
<li>Evaluate and complete Program Evaluation within 24 hours of program completion. </li>
<li>Use on-line community groups in a befitting way to be a positive role model and student leader. </li>

Duty:
<ul>
<li>Serve on RA duty rotation and assume duty responsibility on varying days including weekdays, weekends and evenings (requires walking around and through building (including MCR) and holding/responding to a duty cell phone during shift, overnight, and while phone is in possession). </li>
<li>Duty responsibility: the RA is in their area from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. the following day Friday and Saturday.</li>
<li>Staff coverage and duty will be required during academic calendar break periods (holidays and extended time). Schedule will be determined by the staff.</li>
<li>Must be available to work 3 duty days a week for scheduling purposes (Sunday – Thursday)</li>
<li>Use duty cell phone in professional manner and for business purposes only. </li>
<li>Pick-up and return duty equipment at assigned times.</li>
</ul>
Facility Management:
<ul>
<li>Assist with room condition reports prior to Move-In and after Move-Out (end of semester and during).</li>
<li>Follow up and encourage residents to complete Room Condition Reports following Check-In. </li>
<li>Assist with all openings and closings of the building. </li>
<li>Conduct health, safety and maintenance inspections as scheduled and follow-up accordingly. </li>
<li>Report maintenance concerns for your floor and the building in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Complete other facility management responsibilities as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
