Responsibilities

<li>Support the President &amp; CEO as their chief fundraiser,serving as an advisor and co-strategist in cultivating prospectivedonors and soliciting major, principal and transformativegifts.</li>

<li>Serve as a member of the President &amp; CEO’s management teamand participate in formulating and administering SU Foundationpolicies. <li>Enhance the culture of philanthropy and substantially increasephilanthropic support and engagement.</li>
<li>Utilize best practices and professional organizationalguidelines to accomplish strategic fundraising initiatives, e.g.annual giving programs, planning giving techniques, capital, andcomprehensive campaign strategies.</li>
<li>Cultivate a strong working relationship with universityadministrators, faculty, and staff.</li>

 Requirements:

Job purpose
The Senior Development Associate is responsible for alladministrative aspects of development and donor cultivationactivities. This position is a critical role that supports AFJ’sleadership and development team in fundraising, donor cultivation,and administration aligned with its mission and strategic plan.
Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Maintain EveryAction database records ensuring accurate and upto date information including gift entry, notes, contacts, andfollow ups.</li>
<li>Communicate with the Finance Department to receive requiredreports, wire transfers, check scans, and stock gifts and toreconcile monthly gift data with accounting.</li>
<li>Open and process mail and checks, coordinating with Operationsand Finance to ensure timely deposits and reporting.</li>
<li>Generate, print, mail, and track timely and accurateacknowledgement letters for donations.</li>
<li>Support the Foundations Relations Director with back-up supportfor data entry and tracking of grant payments.</li>
<li>Pull reports on donor data from EveryAction database.</li>
<li>Create and distribute weekly and monthly income reports.</li>
<li>Assist with planning and execution of donor outreach eventsthroughout the year.</li>
<li>Proofread and light editing of print and digitalmaterials.</li>
<li>Maintain and update as needed ClickUp project managementsoftware.</li>
<li>Maintain executive schedule and travel arrangements asneeded.</li>
<li>Print and mail in house direct mail pieces throughout theyear.</li>
<li>Additional tasks as assigned.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.</li>
<li>Two years prior experience in a related role.</li>
<li>Demonstrated alignment with AFJ mission and politics, andpassion for its work.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</li>
<li>Comfortable working with database software programs such asEveryAction.</li>
<li>Strong written communication skills.</li>
<li>Outstanding attention to detail and deadlines.</li>
<li>Capacity to maintain strong, positive, collegial workingrelationships.</li>
<li>Ability to take ownership of a process and use problem-solvingskills to resolve issues and complete tasks.</li>

Compensation
This is a union position covered under the terms of a collectivebargaining agreement with the Washington-Baltimore News Guild, CWALocal 32035, which includes salary minimums based on job positioncategory. This position is in Group 2 with a starting salary rangeof $60,000 - $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience.&nbsp;

Job Location

Senior Development Associate

Stanford University, in conjunction with its IDEAL initiative, is pleased to announce that it is seeking to appoint four to five early career fellows engaged in the study of race and ethnicity. The purpose of this program is to support the work of early-career researchers, who will lead the next generation of scholarship in race and ethnicity and whose work will point the way forward for reshaping race relations in America. Fellowships may be in any of the seven schools in the University (Business, Doerr School of Sustainability, Education, Engineering, Humanities &amp; Sciences, Law, Medicine).
Applicants will be asked to identify the school or department that aligns with the field of their Ph.D. The selected fellows will be assigned a faculty mentor from their home department or school and will have the opportunity to be involved with the other early career fellows and Stanford faculty in a variety of activities. Informally, they will be invited to lunches and dinners to meet with other Stanford faculty who share their interests. They also will be invited to engage with the intellectual programming offered by the African and African-American Studies program, the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and the Martin Luther King Research and Education Institute.
The early career fellows will have an opportunity each year to teach one course that will be cross-listed in the curricula of the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and/or the African and African American Studies program. This course may be taught by the fellow or the fellow may team-teach a course with another member of the Stanford faculty. The fellows also will be involved in the organization of a major conference that brings to Stanford scholars who are at the forefront of scholarship in the study of race and ethnicity.
Criteria: Scholars interested in any field of study are accepted. Early career fellows should have received their terminal degree (PhD, JD, MFA, EdD, DSW, etc.) prior to the start of the fellowship. Selection criteria include the originality and quality of the research, as well as demonstrated potential for intellectual achievement. The term of these fellowships is three years, with a start date of September 1, 2024. To be eligible for an early career fellowship, a candidate must have received their terminal degree no earlier than September 1, 2021.
Applicants for early career fellowships should submit their applications electronically and include a cover letter (detailing the candidate’s interest in the position), curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a statement of teaching interests, samples of written work, and three letters of recommendation (provide contact information for each and a system generated request will be delivered to each referee).
