Deckhands are primarily responsible for the safety of fellow crewmembers, the vessel, the cargo, and the environment. They perform tasks associated with building and breaking tow, as well as vessel cleanliness and maintenance. Tasks are carried out in all weather conditions, both outside and within the confines of the vessel, while navigating the western rivers. 
Responsibilities:

<li>Build and break tow effectively.</li>
<li>Inspect, correct, and/or notify others of any conditions that affect the safety of individuals or cargo.</li>
<li>Handle rigging during tow building, locking, and landing work, ensuring the proper fitting of cables, wires, and lines, and use appropriate tools for adjustments as needed.</li>
<li>Safely secure barges with cables, wires, and lines while being environmentally conscious.</li>
