<p>While applying technical civil engineering knowledge and skills, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Plan, design and implement critical community infrastructure projects including water distribution and treatment, wastewater collection, treatment and reclamation, irrigation, and storm water infrastructure.</li>
<li>Play key roles in all phases of project planning, design, and construction management.</li>
<li>Analyze engineering data, interpret plans and specifications, and make sound decisions.</li>
<li>Partner with senior engineers and project managers for reporting, design, and construction phase services to enhance public water, sewer, irrigation, and storm water projects.</li>
<li>Collaborate with government agencies for permits, crossing agreements, easements, encroachments, and other necessary requirements.</li>
<li>Facilitate public meetings, public forums, and open houses to discuss project details and answer questions from the public.</li>
<li>Organize and conduct meetings with consulting partners, contractors, clients, and agencies.</li>
<li>Utilize design tools such as AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Excel, WaterCAD, and InfoSWMM.</li>
</ul>
<p>Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or equivalent.</li>
<li>Master's degree with focus in the water sector is desired, but not required. </li>
<li>Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure</li>
<li>Two years of experience in civil/water/wastewater engineering working under responsible charge of a Professional Engineer is highly desired, but not required.</li>
<li>AutoCAD Civil3D experience.</li>
<li>Water/wastewater modeling software experience.</li>
<li>MS Office proficient.</li>
</ul>
<p>Salary Range: $90,000 -$125,000 Determined by experience.  </p>

Water Supply Engineer

<h2>Job Summary</h2>
<p>CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for our Oro Grande cement plant. This internship is ideal for a student interested in electrical engineering. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of heavy capital projects and/or maintenance projects. Exposure to various plants, aggregate, ready-mix, and cement.</p>
<h2>Compensation</h2>
<p>$17.50/hr-$24.00/hr DOE</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Perform data collection for power system studies</li>
<li>Create and/or modify drawings as needed for projects, plant improvements or in response to plant requests</li>
<li>Assist Automation team as required</li>
<li>Complete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required training</li>
<li>Carry-out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the CalPortland workplace</li>
<li>Provide help, designing and budgeting for projects at multiple plant locations</li>
<li>Additional work with other engineering disciplines</li>
<li>Assist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilities</li>
<li>Learn about other CalPortland departments and interface as required</li>
<li>Attend summer intern orientation event at corporate headquarters</li>
<li>Perform plant tasks as assigned</li>
</ul>
<h2>Education</h2>
<p>Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.</p>
<h2>Requirements/Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li>
<li>Good attendance and punctual</li>
<li>Ability to work a flexible schedule</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and in a team setting</li>
<li>Must possess valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles</li>
</ul>
<h2>Conditions of Employment</h2>
<p>Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.</p>
