Responsibilities:

<li>Performs a variety of tasks such as research, testing, problem solution, construction management/administration of transportation projects.</li>
<li>Participate in field visits and inspections as required.</li>
<li>Serve as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout the construction process. </li>
<li>Conduct and document field observations for construction activities performed by the contractor(s) for roadway and bridge construction projects. </li>
<li>Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.</li>
<li>Ensure construction work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes and best construction practices while adhering to schedule/timeline and budget aspects.</li>
<li>Identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.

<li>Communicate deficiencies to management/proper personnel.</li>

<li>Communicate and coordinate with construction contractors, municipal and private property owners in a cooperative, productive manner to overcome challenges while serving the best interest of the client.</li>
<li>Monitor the progress of construction activities and provide guidance to contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines.</li>
<li>Discuss plans, specifications and work schedules with Project Manager and Engineers, contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies, etc.</li>
<li>Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to the client.</li>
<li>Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.</li>
<li>Communicate and enforce construction quality standards.</li>
<li>Follow company safety policies and procedures. </li>
<li>Review contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.</li>
<li>Assist in the resolution of construction-related disputes or claims.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Construction Management is preferred but not required. </li>
<li>Associates degree, or greater, in Construction Management or equivalent of 3+ years of experience through construction and/or inspection services on transportation projects. </li>
<li>Previous ODOT construction inspection/project experience is preferred but not required. </li>
<li>In-depth understanding of construction principles and concepts.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.</li>
<li>Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning. </li>
<li>Ability to make and read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. </li>

• 2+ years of cable mapping experience within the CATV industry is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the fielding process with hands on experience in CATV asbuilt and new build walkouts.
• Knowledge of cable design and basic OSP construction practices of cable systems.
• Permitting experience in telecommunications such as: right of way (ROW), pole, railroad, and government agency permitting is preferred.
• Able to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects.
• Ability to accurately update As-Built field prints with equipment &amp; information obtained from the field walkout.
• Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, &amp; PDF Editor with the ability to learn new software and technologies.
• Ability to draw digitally in software programs like Bluebeam is preferred.

 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
