Job Description
The Trauma-Informed Intervention Specialist (TIIS) in LUK’s Residential Services works with youth and staff to ensure that youth develop skills to regulate their emotions and staff deliver trauma-informed interventions. This position also helps newly placed youth transition to the residential setting. The TIIS gets to know each youth, including their triggers and behaviors, and supports each youth to create and use an individual emotional regulation plan. Interventions will be offered in individual and group formats. This position will work with other staff members and the youth’s multidisciplinary team. They will model and teach effective responses, and collaborate on assessments, treatment planning, progress reviews, and discharge planning.
This position is expected to have or develop expertise in the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma treatment model and its application in a residential setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound understanding of the impact of separation on a youth’s emotional, developmental, and behavioral well-being as well as trauma reactive behaviors in youth. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or closely related field and at least one year of experience working with youth. Experience working in a residential setting is preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license, reliable and safe transportation required.

Positions are available on either a 10-month or 12-month basis. Shifts are assigned according to the needs of the University, and weekly schedules may vary from month to month. The Campus Safety Lead Shift Officer is responsible for supervising and coordinating safety and security operations during assigned shifts. Vocational and ABA programming experience preferred. This specialized classroom is located in a public school setting with a strong vocational/community component. About the role:
To coordinate, develop, and execute developmentally appropriate individual learning programs and educational services that will contribute to students' academic, social, and emotional growth, as well as the student's health and well being.
 
Responsibilities:

<li>Performs a variety of assessments and observations to determine the areas in which the student may need extra or modified educational services. Assessment areas may include academic performance, behavior, social development, or physical health.</li>
<li>Identifies the students' needs and develops related lesson and teaching plans.</li>
