Capitol Language Services (CLS) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as After-School Instructors for SY 2025-2026. As an After-School Instructor, you will play a crucial role in providing a supportive and engaging environment for children during their after-school hours. We work with children PreK 3 - 5th grade.
 
Please note this position starts August 25, 2025 - this is not a summer position.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Required availability Monday to Friday 3:00 to 6:00 PM. No partial weeks.
-Engage and teach children various activities, such as arts and crafts, STEM, homework and monitor playground and snack time.
- Ensure safety, inclusivity and prevent bullying during the program hours.
- Adhere strictly to assigned schedules and notify any errors or inconsistencies.
- Take attendance during every transition.
- Manage student allergies and medical needs.
 
Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow protocols for inclement weather, ensuring activities are engaging and screen-free.
- Monitor bathroom breaks.
- Resolve minor behavioral issues by fostering peaceful resolutions.
- Report conflicts and incidents promptly to the Program Coordinator and complete incident reports.
- Set up, clean and store activity materials in assigned spaces.
 
Qualifications:

<li>Submitting weekly lesson plans for two periods M-Th and four periods on Fridays. All themes (Movement, Art, Literacy, STEM) are covered multiple times per week.</li>

<li>Maintaining a daily schedule, managing a classroom and the upkeep of equipment and supplies, record-keeping.</li>

<li>Managing student behavior issues at REEF programs. Promptly document and follow up with parents via email, telephone, and in person. Ensure that school-wide student discipline policy is used with all students.</li>

Qualifications:

As a Lead Educator you will be working closely with the Director (D) and Assistant Director (AD) ensuring that the standards set by Reggio’s Treehouse and DC are met in an organized and timely manner. A lead educator must actively research and implement effective provocations and document the findings. Since the curriculum is emergent, the educators must ensure all documentation is submitted to the AD in a timely manner.
