The City of O'Fallon is looking for an organized and team-oriented individual for a Part Time Training Coordinator in the City's Police Department. This position is responsible for performing administrative duties in support of the department's administrative division. As a Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) Mentor, you will work with the Creative Career Programs Team to guide a group of Bloomberg Arts Interns for 7 weeks of the summer.

BAI Mentors will build relationships with their interns, facilitate professional development workshops, support interns' end-of-program presentations, and serve as a point of contact for interns and their work site supervisors.

The BAI Mentor team works closely with the Manager of Creative Career Programs and key program facilitators in planning and implementing in-person programming and sessions. You will assist with administrative aspects of the BAI internship and student data collection, working closely with Sitar Staff, interns, and their families to ensure strong communication and management of important information. 
 
Responsibilities Include

Job Description
Instructional Designer/Trainer (Hybrid)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Instructional Designer/Trainer to support a dynamic technology project. This role involves creating and maintaining user training materials and documentation, delivering engaging training sessions, and providing user support. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member with a passion for instructional design, strong communication abilities, and experience working in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>

Rapidly learn the functionality of a complex web-based application to effectively support user training and assistance.
</li>
<li>
Update online help documentation, training manuals, and closed-captioned instructional videos to reflect the latest application features and workarounds.
</li>
<li>
Create clear and consistent training scripts, materials, and computer-based training modules.
</li>
<li>
Design and build new web pages for user support resources using HTML or a similar authoring tool.
</li>
<li>
Conduct user training sessions (up to 25 participants), record the sessions, and edit videos for publication on internal platforms.
</li>
<li>
Develop and distribute post-training surveys; collect and synthesize results into actionable reports.
</li>
<li>
Address user support issues, monitor helpdesk communications, and collaborate with operations and Tier-2 support teams to resolve issues.
</li>
<li>
Create and manage issue tracking tickets (enhancements, bugs) and maintain status updates in weekly reporting.
</li>
<li>
Provide timely and professional responses to user inquiries.
</li>
</ul>
Required Skills and Experience
<ul>
<li>
Minimum 2 years of experience working in Agile project teams.
</li>
<li>
At least 3 years of instructional design experience, including developing and delivering training for software applications.
</li>
<li>
Proficiency with tools for web development and training content creation (e.g., Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
</li>
<li>
Skilled in recording and editing training videos, including adding closed captions.
</li>
<li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to lead live training effectively.
</li>
<li>
Customer-oriented with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues.
</li>
<li>
Experience using XML in a documentation or development context (2+ years).
</li>
<li>
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., SubVersion, GIT).
</li>
<li>
4+ years of experience authoring technical documentation.
</li>
<li>
Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
</li>
<li>
Understanding of technologies related to communications (radio, radar, antennas, satellite) is a bonus.
</li>
<li>
Bachelor’s degree required.
</li>
<li>
Active Secret clearance is required.
</li>
