The e-Learning Specialist works with the Viega Technical Services team to design, author, and implement engaging learning for the plumbing and mechanical piping industries. The specialist will create educational courses using video &amp; photo assets, technical information, knowledge &amp; skills assessments, and other content, for delivery via&nbsp;Viega’s&nbsp;external facing Learning Management System (LMS). They will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop learning&nbsp;objectives, conduct needs assessments, design new courses, and update existing course content, for the LMS and live instructor-led training. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;

<li>Serve as&nbsp;course&nbsp;developer, team player, and change agent for the&nbsp;utilization&nbsp;and growth of the LMS and supports the use of current and leading-edge best practices in course development and delivery.&nbsp;</li>

Works directly with SMEs and management to&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;accuracy and ensure all content is current and updated.&nbsp;Performs analysis and testing of the LMS, drives fast bug-resolution and feature&nbsp;requests on&nbsp;for the LMS. Helps provide leadership and knowledge toward the continual evolution of online learning solutions available to all users.&nbsp;&nbsp;Develops and implements processes and controls for user support,&nbsp;training for&nbsp;users with administrative permissions, and an evaluation process for course updates.&nbsp;&nbsp;Extensive knowledge about SCORM and API&nbsp;requirements as&nbsp;related to LMS content.&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience in the configuration, implementation,&nbsp;and&nbsp;administration of desktop and mobile e-Learning platforms.&nbsp;Ability to take existing technical content and author into online learning modules with the&nbsp;assistance&nbsp;of SMEs.&nbsp;

The Peer Specialist is an active member of the treatment team and provides peer support services to individuals with substance use disorder under the supervision of a Peer Recovery Peer Supervisor (PRPS). The Peer Specialist will function, with training and lived experience, as a role model to individuals; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of life skills; and will serve as a recovery advocate, providing information and peer support for individuals in outpatient and residential settings. A wide array of tasks are performed to assist individuals of all ages in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. Collaboration with the treatment team in documenting the following on the peers treatment/recovery plan: goals, treatment planning, life skills coaching, resource referral, conducting recovery groups, assist with discharge planning and individual peer sessions.

Through the holistic integration of its Pillars of Opportunity, Sasha Bruce is able to provide safe homes, 
life skills, and workforce development to meet the unique needs of homeless youth. For more than 45 
years, Sasha Bruce has implemented innovative interventions aimed at bringing an end to youth 
homelessness in the DC region. Today, its programs in DC and Prince George’s County, MD, reach over 
6,500 runaway, homeless, abused, neglected youth, and their families. 

About the Resilient Scholars Program 

This program will work with young people who have exited or are exiting from New Beginnings who are 
working towards graduating or obtaining their GED by providing tutoring, mentoring as well as providing 
workforce development. This is an intensive program with regular check-ins on progress towards 
graduation, job readiness and employment. 

Position Summary 

The College and Career Coach is responsible for conducting assessments and matching youth with tutors 
and support. They will work to ensure the implementation of education plans of each youth and establish 
plans for on-time graduation. 

Qualifications 

● Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a Human Services related field OR 
three years of experience working with at risk youth, vulnerable populations - preferably youth 
who have been involved in the criminal justice system 
● Experience in providing tutoring support and navigating the educational system required. 
● Strong communication and organizational skills required; and, 
● Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a full-time, exempt level position. All candidates must 
possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation; pass the required clearances; and 
provide any additional information regarding previous records, if necessary. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

● Create and develop a personal Educational Plan with each youth; this plan includes information 
on what the client’s definition of academic success is along with their challenges and intended 
next steps; this plan will serve as the basis for program success and will also ensure to 
encapsulate information on attendance, grades, progress notes, any behavioral issues and 
modification plans, extracurricular and other supports required; tutor youth as needed 
● Re-evaluations of Education Plans at 6 month intervals or sooner based on client’s needs; 
● Oversees virtual and in person tutoring services for clients; supervises tutors and checks in 
regularly to ensure clients are meeting studying and educational goals in tutoring; 
● Creates overall curriculum for clients in programming; creates and regularly facilitates trainings 
and workshops on relevant topics including study skills development, graduation requirements, 
trade schools, college applications, college access exams, and other related topics; 
● Collaborates with school staff, tutoring agency, and other educational supports when relevant; 
● Provide familial support services including home visits; include family members in Education 
Plans; 
● Refer clients to coding and technology courses and certification programs; supports clients in 
applying as well as throughout time in courses/programs; 
● Collaborate with the Sasha Bruce College and Career Program Director when appropriate; 
● Support or provide crisis intervention and on-site counseling when appropriate; 
● Complete service documentation in client case records within 24-48 hours of the service; 
maintain accurate, complete, and confidential case files, written documentation, reports to track 
client progress and outcomes; 
● Participates in regular team consultation meetings with staff working with shared clients; 
● Participate in staff meetings, trainings, conferences, regular supervision and community outreach 
events as required; taking special care to ensure that 40 hours of required training are completed 
annually. 
● Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or their designee; and, 
● Must have a commitment to ending youth homelessness, racial equity, inclusion, and issues
