Stanford Department of African and African American Studies Open Rank: Black Studies in the Arts

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures seeks to hire a tenure-track professor of French and Francophone literatures and cultures specializing in any of the periods prior to the nineteenth century, from the Middle Ages to the aftermath of the French Revolution. We are looking for a scholar who envisions their research within a capacious conception of the spaces, texts, and times involved in pre-1800 French and Francophone studies. We are especially interested in approaches that place literature and cultural expressions in conversation with interdisciplinary fields such as gender and sexuality studies, decolonial studies, and the environmental humanities. Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is crucial, as is the ability to capture the interest of a diverse student body.&nbsp;
The Department will consider candidates with a PhD from disciplines other than French Studies, but fluency in French is required. Doctorate required by the time the appointment begins on July 1, 2024. The tenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching four courses a year and supervising theses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Course description:&nbsp;Gross and Developmental Anatomy focuses on the gross structure of organs and their function, and through clinical correlations, relates each to clinical medicine.&nbsp; An Anatomical Learning Resource Center has been established to utilize computer-based instruction, anatomical models, radiographic materials as well as supervised laboratory sessions dissecting various parts of the human body.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Students study the structure and function of all organs with some interaction with cellular structure.&nbsp; This course incorporates an understanding of how embryological processes give rise to the mature body form.&nbsp; When this course is complete, each student will have extensive knowledge of the gross anatomy and development of the entire human body as it relates clinically to the practice of medicine.

The Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) seeks to appoint an assistant or associate professor on the tenure track to teach, conduct research, and engage with practitioners in the interdisciplinary field of real estate. The successful candidate will play a major role in Harvard’s new one-year Master in Real Estate (MRE) degree program, which covers the traditional skills and knowledge required of all real estate professionals as well as ways in which well-designed real estate can advance beneficial spatial, social, and environmental outcomes. Candidates for the position may have educational backgrounds in a variety of fields such as finance, planning, law, economics, design, engineering, or other related fields, and are expected to have a Ph.D. or comparable terminal degree. The successful candidate will have the ability to interact fruitfully with students and faculty in the GSD’s Department of Urban Planning and Design, where the&nbsp;MRE&nbsp;program is lodged, and students and faculty with other departments and programs at the school. Educational engagement with students and faculty from other schools at Harvard is a normal part of the academic experience. We seek an individual with expertise involving human participant research in Neuropsychology/Clinical Neuroscience. This position is at the intersection of the neuropsychology, neuroscience, and cognitive psychology fields. Examples of research interests may include but are not limited to applied and basic work in physiological psychology, neurocognition/cognitive psychology, perception, behavioral neuroscience, and aging. Faculty holding this position would be well-suited to instruct relevant undergraduate and graduate courses including but not limited to neuropsychology, physiological psychology, perception, learning, and cognitive psychology.
We welcome specialization in areas that offer opportunities for collaboration within our department, the College of Health Sciences, the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program (INP), and the University. The position will address teaching and research needs that are central to our undergraduate BA and BS, and graduate curriculums, and could include opportunities for instruction within the INP.
