Bench Mechanic 2nd Shift Work with general supervision, plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.  Job Summary 
<ul>\n
<li>Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.</li>
\n
<li>Performs all deburring operations.</li>
\n
<li>Strip remaining maskant and silstic from finished chem mill parts.</li>
\n
<li>Removes burrs and sharp edges by use of various hand tools and materials such as files and edge breakers.</li>
\n
<li>Soothes edges and removes build ups with air or electric equipment using abrasive disk and sleeves.</li>
\n
<li>Operates burring equipment using countersink, grinding wheels, burring rolls, bench grinders, rotary files, drill presses and jitterbug.</li>
\n
<li>Control thickness by using ultrasonic gages and micrometers calipers,, scales to work to close tolerances +/-.002.</li>
\n
<li>Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.</li>
\n
<li>Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees.</li>
\n</ul>
\n Required Skills and Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend instructions such as blue prints and shop drawings, chem. mill templates with an emphasis on chemical milling features, excess and special conditions.</li>
\n
<li>Ability to write simple correspondence.</li>
\n
<li>Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.</li>
\n
<li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.</li>
\n
<li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.</li>
\n
<li>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.</li>
\n
<li>Must be able to comply with specific safety policies.</li>
\n
<li>Read and understand internal procedures and policies. Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.</li>

<li>Basic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions, and simple software programs with assistance.</li>

 Required Experience and Education 
<ul>\n
<li>H.S. Diploma or GED</li>
\n
<li>1 - 3 years of experience preferred </li>
