Lead Mechanic needed for large fleet. Mack truck and tech tool knowledge is required.

We’re looking for a dependable Maintenance Manager to lead daily maintenance shop operations, oversee equipment reliability, and support a safe, productive work environment. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating repairs and fabrication activities, and ensuring equipment is maintained to high operational standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise daily operations of the maintenance and fabrication shop to ensure productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance employees while supporting skill development and performance improvement.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Conduct quality inspections on fabricated, repaired, and maintained equipment to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor shop conditions and equipment performance to identify maintenance needs and operational improvements.
  • Review mechanical and electrical drawings to support troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment modifications.
  • Conduct site and equipment inspections to identify maintenance concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage multiple maintenance projects simultaneously while ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support production goals and equipment reliability.
  • Assist with employee hiring, disciplinary actions, performance management, and termination processes when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and repair documentation.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed in compliance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.


What You’ll Need

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in maintenance, fabrication, industrial operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices, equipment inspections, and shop operations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during 8–12 hour shifts while working in industrial shop environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work around moving mechanical equipment safely.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours based on operational and maintenance demands.
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to industrial noise, dust, heat, vibration, grease, and required PPE usage.
