Job Description

Job DescriptionFleet Bodywork Fabricator & Paint Refinisher

Are you the go-to pro when a heavy truck rolls in with a crushed fender, a rusted frame section, or a trailer that needs a full refinish? Join a construction company that builds major civil infrastructure across the Tri-State area and invests in your craft through a safety-first culture, great tools, and clear paths for development.

What this role is about

You’ll handle end-to-end body and paint restoration for trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment—blending metalwork and welding with meticulous prep, primer, paint, and corrosion control. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with maintenance and operations to prioritize the repairs that keep the fleet safe, reliable, and project-ready.

Envision the impact

Every precise weld, clean panel line, and durable finish you deliver helps extend equipment life, cut rework, and keep public projects on schedule—while presenting a professional fleet that reflects the company’s reputation.

What you’ll handle

  • Perform body repairs: dent removal, panel swaps, and structural/cosmetic welding on heavy trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Prep surfaces: sand, fill, and prime; apply coatings by spray or brush to achieve durable, showroom-quality finishes.
  • Combat corrosion: sandblast frames, components, and panels; treat rust and apply protective undercoatings.
  • Restore components: repair/replace bumpers, doors, hoods, fenders; install decals, reflectors, and safety markings to meet compliance.
  • Own quality: verify work meets safety and finish standards; document all repairs, parts used, and next-step recommendations.
  • Run a tight shop: keep the spray booth, tools, and PPE organized; follow all paint/flammable handling procedures.
  • Coordinate workflow: partner with maintenance and operations to prioritize jobs, manage parts, and hit turnaround targets.

  • Auto-body mastery: metalwork, panel replacement, dent repair, sanding, filling, priming.

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, not required).
