- Discovery Organization: Organize incoming electronic discovery files, build indices for records, assemble exhibit notebooks, and draft basic discovery response shells.
- Administrative Support: Manage physical and digital case files, track court schedules, and help prepare trial materials and presentation tools.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (e.g., GVSU, Ferris State). Recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
- Experience: Prior internship experience at a law firm or a strong academic record in litigation-focused coursework is highly preferred.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat. Comfort adapting quickly to cloud-based systems like Clio Manage is a must.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding attention to detail, strong legal research and writing abilities, a proactive attitude, and the ability to accept constructive feedback during the training process.
What We Offer
- Direct Mentorship: Hands-on training from seasoned litigation attorneys and a structured professional development path.
- Workplace Flexibility: Eligibility for a hybrid work arrangement (up to 2 days remote per week) following the completion of initial onboarding and training.
- Professional Integration: Firm-paid annual dues for the Western Michigan Association of Legal Administrators (WMALA) to help you build your local professional network.
- Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision packages, generous PTO, and a 401(k) program. Off-street parking with parking badge to our secure lot.
