Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Tucson, AZ. The successful candidate will bring strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on maintenance leadership to keep plant equipment running safely and reliably.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $25–$30/hr

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment and modify existing equipment.

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, assemble parts lists, and repair as needed.

  • Manage time and dollar resources to provide effective, timely, and efficient repairs and maintenance service.

  • Coordinate with the production team on equipment needs and repair timelines.

  • Perform unplanned maintenance on all equipment if breakdowns occur.

  • Develop a Preventive Maintenance Program.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.

  • Fabricate parts as needed.

  • Supervise the maintenance technician.

  • Conduct safety inspections of work areas and correct safety hazards.

  • Address staff concerns related to safety issues involving production equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in independent maintenance planning.

  • Welding and metal fabrication experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assemble parts lists.

  • Good math and measurement skills.

  • Experience with hydraulic systems.

  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training (OSHA training).

  • Strong communication, decision-making, adaptability, and safety awareness, with high work standards and the initiative to solve problems independently.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing plant where employees install, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment using hand tools, micrometers, calipers, rigging equipment, and welders. The work involves grasping, pushing, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and repetitive movement, along with regularly lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, occasional high heat, and loud noise levels, and PPE (including hearing protection, eyewear, and respiratory protection) is available as needed. Employees can expect a hands-on, safety-focused environment that rewards strong troubleshooting skills and dependable leadership on the floor.
