What You'll Do as a Taxi Mechanic:Vehicle Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns across a diverse fleet of taxi vehicles.
- Perform brake, steering, suspension, and engine repairs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, charging systems, and vehicle performance issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and resolve problems.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, inspections, tire services, fluid replacements, and tune-ups.
- Conduct detailed vehicle inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Recommend preventative maintenance solutions that improve reliability and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Help minimize downtime through proactive fleet maintenance.
Fleet Readiness & Support
- Ensure vehicles meet company standards for safety, cleanliness, and operational performance.
- Prioritize repairs and maintenance based on fleet needs and service demands.
- Work closely with maintenance leadership and operations teams to maximize vehicle availability.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, repair orders, and service documentation.
- Assist with emergency repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
Safety & Shop Operations
- Follow all safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment.
- Safely operate vehicle lifts, shop equipment, diagnostic machines, and power tools.
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer recommendations and company standards.
- Identify and address potential safety concerns before they impact operations.
What We're Looking for as a Taxi Mechanic:Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Fleet Mechanic, Taxi Mechanic, Diesel Technician, or Maintenance Technician.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair procedures, and preventative maintenance.
- Experience working on passenger vehicles, fleet vehicles, taxis, vans, or light-duty commercial vehicles.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance tracking.
- Valid driver's license required.
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
