Ana Bird Legal Search is partnering with a sophisticated Chicago-based law firm seeking a Senior Real Estate Associate with 6 to 8 years of substantive commercial real estate experience, particularly complex commercial leasing.
This opportunity offers significant responsibility within a nationally recognized real estate practice, direct collaboration with experienced partners, and sophisticated leasing transactions involving institutional owners, landlords, tenants, and commercial property portfolios. The firm offers a flexible hybrid schedule and an annual billable target of 1,800 hours.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases and related agreements.
- Represent landlords and tenants in complex office, industrial, and retail leasing transactions.
- Advise institutional owners, REITs, property managers, and commercial real estate users.
- Independently manage leasing negotiations, documentation, and transactional matters.
- Address related commercial real estate issues and provide practical guidance to clients.
- Collaborate directly with partners, clients, and other legal professionals on sophisticated transactions.
Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years of substantive commercial real estate transactional experience.
- Significant landlord-side and tenant-side commercial leasing experience.
- Experience representing institutional owners, REITs, property managers, or commercial tenants.
- Strong experience negotiating sophisticated office, industrial, or retail leases.
- Ability to independently manage transactions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client communication skills.
- J.D. and active bar admission in good standing.
