Location: Minneapolis, MN

Compensation: $27–$34 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (1st Shift) • Full-Time • 4-day workweek

Your Day

You grab your gauges, open the latest print, and get to work—first-piece, in-process, then final checks as a new production run moves through the line. You’re the conduit between Production, Quality, Engineering, and the Toolroom, translating GD&T into action and ensuring every metal component meets the mark before it ships. When something’s off, you know when to stop, contain, and escalate—and how to guide the team toward a fix.

Impact You’ll Make

  • Own first-piece, in-process, and final inspections for manufactured metal parts
  • Verify dimensional and visual requirements against drawings and specs
  • Operate micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, fixtures, and vision systems
  • Interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T to make sound go/no-go decisions
  • Document results with clarity and accuracy; flag nonconformances
  • Decide when to stop production, contain issues, and escalate appropriately
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to diagnose and resolve quality concerns
  • Support reinspection, containment efforts, root-cause work, and corrective actions
  • Champion robust inspection practices and quality standards across production

What You Bring

  • 4+ years in quality or manufacturing inspection
  • Strong command of precision metrology tools
  • Confident blueprint literacy
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Exceptional attention to detail and measurement accuracy
  • Ability to identify defects and nonconforming product
  • Independent judgment and decisive problem-solving
  • Clear communication and thorough documentation
  • Reliable attendance with a focus on safety and quality

Preferred Background

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Metal stamping or precision manufacturing environments
  • CMMs, vision systems, or optical comparators
  • Advanced GD&T practices
  • First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • PPAP methodology
  • Corrective action implementation
  • ISO, aerospace, medical, or other regulated industries
  • Training or mentoring other inspectors
