Direct Counsel is seeking a Cal/OSHA and Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of employment litigation or OSHA experience to join a leading national law firm and its Workplace Safety practice.

Position Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an employment litigator or OSHA attorney interested in developing specialized workplace safety experience. The associate will dedicate at least 50% of their practice to supporting the firm's Workplace Safety Practice Group while handling employment litigation matters.
Prior experience with Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, or other state OSHA enforcement actions is preferred, but even limited exposure is valuable.
Responsibilities
- Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings.
- Draft and argue motions and other legal briefs.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Support workplace safety matters and enforcement actions.
- Advise clients regarding workplace safety and employment-related legal issues.
- Assist with matters involving Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, and other state OSHA plans.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys across the firm's employment and workplace safety practices.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of employment litigation or OSHA experience.
- Experience with workplace safety-related enforcement actions brought by Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, or other state OSHA plans preferred.
- Strong litigation skills, including experience with discovery, pleadings, motion practice, and depositions.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the California Bar required.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $170,000–$270,000 annually, depending on office location, experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
