Senior Database Administrator (DBA III)

Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX 78751 (3 days remote, must reside in Austin)

Job Summary

\n

Seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA III) to manage, optimize, and support enterprise databases in an Azure/AWS cloud environment. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, Oracle-to-Azure SQL migrations, disaster recovery, security, and high availability. The candidate will work closely with Agile Scrum teams supporting Full-Stack Java applications.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Administer and support Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

\n

• Perform database performance tuning, indexing, optimization, and troubleshooting.

\n

• Migrate databases from Oracle to Azure SQL, including converting Oracle Stored Procedures and Functions to Azure SQL.

\n

• Design and maintain logical and physical data models.

\n

• Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, replication, clustering, and security.

\n

• Monitor database health and performance.

\n

• Support Agile (Scrum) development teams and cloud-based applications (Azure/AWS).

\n

Required Skills

\n

\n
• 10+ years of Database Administration experience.

\n

• 8+ years with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.

\n

• Strong experience in:

\n

• Database design and performance tuning

\n

• Relational databases

\n

• Enterprise application support

\n

• Agile/Scrum SDLC

\n

• Multi-tier applications (SOA/Microservices)

\n

\n

\n

Preferred Skills

\n

\n
• Azure SQL and Azure cloud experience.

\n

• ETL/Data Migration experience.

\n

• DevOps (Git, CI/CD).

\n

• Java/J2EE knowledge.

\n

• Azure or DBA certifications.
