Job Description
Job DescriptionAbout the Role
This is an applied research engineering role at a small, fast-moving AI data lab focused on multimodal data — video, audio, image, and interaction data — that powers frontier AI development. You'll work at the intersection of research and engineering, helping build and advance the data pipelines and ML systems that underpin cutting-edge AI applications for leading research teams and enterprises.
What You'll Do
-
Design and implement ML models and research prototypes across multimodal data domains (video, audio, image).
-
Develop and improve data filtering, indexing, and annotation systems using purpose-built detectors and embeddings.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand model needs, failure modes, and evaluation goals.
-
Contribute to research efforts that translate directly into production-quality data solutions for AI teams.
-
Communicate technical findings and methodologies clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
-
Strong foundation in machine learning concepts — supervised/unsupervised learning, optimization, and model evaluation.
-
Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
-
Demonstrated research capability in AI/ML through personal projects, publications, or open-source contributions.
-
Clear, effective communicator who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
-
Self-directed and curious — comfortable driving independent research with limited supervision.
-
Background at or familiarity with engineering-driven organizations in AI infrastructure, data platforms, or applied ML is a plus.
