Since 2016, Correctional Health Services (CHS) has been the direct provider of health care in the New York City jails. Deeply committed to human dignity and patient rights, CHS is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals system and is a key partner in the City’s efforts to reform the criminal-legal system. Our in-jail clinical services include medical, nursing, and mental health care; pharmacy services; substance-use treatment; social work; dental and vision care; discharge planning; and reentry support. 
 
Given the high visibility of this initiative, we are seeking the highest caliber health care professionals in key clinical services to staff our Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units (OTxHU). To be located in three NYC Health + Hospital acute care facilities, the OTxHU is a pioneering approach to safely increasing access to high quality clinical care for patients in custody who have complicated health conditions. OTxHUs will bridge the gap in the continuum between care provided in the jails and inpatient hospitalization, with admission to and discharge from the OTxHU in accordance with a patient’s clinical needs. CHS will be the primary health care providers on these units and the NYC Department of Correction will provide security and custody management. 
 
The OTxHU at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in Manhattan will be the first of this unique, groundbreaking project to open with a planned completion date as early as the end of 2024. Overview:
Employed by PAGNY for The Division of Correctional Health Services (CHS) of New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) is responsible for the delivery of medical care, mental health care, and discharge planning in the jail system. Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city.

Position Summary
Manages all aspects of the Environmental Services Department to ensure optimum property presentation. 
Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Provide supervision and direction of operational day to day activities</li>
<li>Maintain highest standards of cleanliness, safety, conduct and professionalism, this position requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills and the ability to effectively interact with and support the department heads, guests and employees alike</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with accident loss prevention programs and health/sanitation standards/regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction</li>
<li>Review guest complaints/concerns and take appropriate action</li>
<li>Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner</li>
<li>Maintain awareness of Chinook Winds Casino Resorts’ events, promotions and services</li>
<li>Schedule employees to guarantee maximum productivity and guest satisfaction with a minimum outlay of expenses in terms of labor and material; ensures that the department is adequately staffed for day-to-day operations, weekends, holidays, and events</li>
<li>Assign duties, responsibilities and work areas to employees in accordance with work requirements</li>
<li>Maintain inventories of housekeeping supplies; assist in determining and operating within set budget</li>
<li>Maintain and evaluate the documentation of all departmental functions: including, employee related meetings and schedules; equipment maintenance and logs</li>
<li>Responsible for supervision of all EVS shift Supervisors, Leads and workers</li>
<li>Ensure the EVS team has a demonstrated understanding of required cleaning operations and techniques; inspect and correct work performed to ensure that established standards are meet</li>
<li>Responsible for hiring, training, retraining, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling and terminating employees with concurrence of the Department Director, Human Resources Director and General Manager</li>
<li>Direct and assist with orientations of new personnel</li>
<li>Responsible for identifying and reporting incidents, employee issues, work related accidents and any other unusual events to Department Director</li>
<li>Manage/spearhead participation in infection control, quality assessment and improvement; develop, implement and monitor the department quality assessment and improvement plans</li>
<li>Plan, organize and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with Chinook Winds Policies and Procedures and with quality assurance standards</li>
<li>Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing EVS staff in the details of their work</li>
<li>Monitor cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations</li>
<li>Meet with vendors to review current products or equipment being used or considered; continuously strive for efficiencies that better the Resort, the department, while also saving on resources</li>
<li>Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase quality and enhance job safety</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>
