The Michigan Society of Fellows was founded in 1970 through grants from the Ford Foundation and Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies for the purpose of promoting academic and creative excellence in the humanities, the arts, the social, physical, and life sciences, and in the professions. The objective of the Society is to provide financial and intellectual support for individuals holding advanced degrees in their fields, who are selected for their outstanding achievement, professional promise, and interdisciplinary interests.&nbsp;
Candidates should be near the beginning of their professional careers. Those selected for fellowships must have received the Ph.D. degree or comparable artistic or professional degree between June 1, 2021, and August 26, 2024. Fellows are appointed as Assistant Professors in appropriate departments and as Postdoctoral Scholars in the Michigan Society of Fellows. They are expected to be in residence in Ann Arbor during the academic years of the fellowship, to teach for the equivalent of one academic year, to participate in the informal intellectual life of the Society, and to devote time to their independent research or artistic projects. This is not an artist-in-residence program but rather an opportunity to develop one’s work in conversation with fellows from a range of disciplines during the three years of the fellowship. Tenure/status-track Assistant Professor in Education#440 Webster University's Doctor of Education (EdD) is a holistic andinterdisciplinary doctorate with an equity and justice focus. Theprogram has emphases in Educational Leadership, Special Education,and Transformative Learning in the Global Community. The program isgrowing in reputation, academic rigor, and enrollment numbers sinceits inception in 2015. <ul>
<li>Teach graduate-level courses in EdD with a 3-3 teaching loadaccording to the flexible load policy, with an emphasis on eitherresearch or service. Research or service output needs to beassessed according to the flexible load policy. </li>
<li>Willingness to adapt to diverse modalities in teaching andadvising. Teach online, overseas, and Live Virtual. All courses are8-week long, online or Live Virtual that require digital literacycompetency on using Office 365, Canvas, Concourse, Zoom, andeducational apps. Some students reside overseas and require eveningand weekend hours for communication and mentorship. </li>
<li>Collaborate with the EdD Director, faculty, and colleagues forgrant applications, coursework development, research projects,presentations and publications. </li>
<li>Be a team-player and participate in all the student-centeredservices and activities hosted by the EdD program. </li>
<li>Assist the EdD Director with curriculum development &amp;differentiation, implementation, assessment, and review; as well asrecruitment, marketing, and hosting information sessions forprospective students. </li>
<li>Work closely with the EdD Director for program growth in othercountries and willingness to travel and work during break time,weekends, and evening hours. </li>
<li>Develop new materials and assessments and differentiate contentmaterials, as needed. </li>
<li>Service to department, school, university, community, andprofessional associations. Physical Demands Within the range of a typical office environment. Location: Webster Groves Campus-WEBG. Department: Graduate Department of Education-GDE. Requirements Minimum Qualifications : </li>
<li>An earned doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in education-relateddisciplines (leadership, urban education, research methodology,technology or areas with market potential). </li>
<li>A minimum of three academic publications at the time ofapplication. </li>
<li>Knowledge in ontology, epistemology, axiology,intersectionality, and reflexivity in research. </li>
<li>Demonstrated academic credentials and scholarship in a varietyof educational research methods, as evidenced in publications inpeer-reviewed journals and books. </li>
<li>Operational knowledge with qualitative research, and criticalpedagogy. Preferred utilization of NVivo, Dedoose, or MAXQDA, andother qualitative data analytical software. </li>
<li>Research interest and experience in one of the following areas:anti-racist leadership in K-12 and higher education settings,technological transformations with Block Chain, VR/AR, Metaverse,and social media. </li>
<li>Experience with professional conference presentations asevidenced in presentations at a peer-reviewed conference such asAmerican Educational Research Association (AERA) convention and/orother reputable conference in the relevant discipline. Preferred Qualifications: </li>
<li>Hands-on knowledge of the utilization of JASP, SPSS, and R forapplications of statistical packages in quantitative andmixed-methods research. </li>
<li>Knowledge of survey research and the use of Qualtricsdesirable. </li>
<li>Experience supervising dissertation or doctoral portfoliocompletion. </li>
<li>Experience supervising overseas graduate students with diversebackgrounds. </li>
<li>Knowledge and experience with academic writing groups andmonitoring writing projects at the graduate level. </li>
<li>Professional membership with AERA, Carnegie Project on theEducation Doctorate (CPED), and/or other professionalorganizations. Assistant Professor - Education

The University Honors College and the Department of Political Science at Portland State University seek a Teaching Assistant Professor with a focus in Law and Courts with a strong commitment to undergraduate education. This is a non-tenure track faculty (NTTF) appointment for an individual whose responsibilities are primarily devoted to teaching. Expectations of the position will also include mentoring, advising, and service. Appointment may include responsibility for undergraduate curriculum development, participation in assessment, professional development, training graduate teaching assistants and adjuncts, and/or community-based work. We are interested in candidates who engage with key contemporary urban issues such as the environment, immigration, violence and/or policing, fascism and racism, poverty and inequality, among others. Ability to work with, mentor, and advise students and graduate assistants/ tutors/ graders of diverse populations, and participation in departmental, college/ school, or university service are required.
