In this role, you will document the company’s financial transactions by executing daily accounting tasks with strong attention to details. This will be a full-time on-site position in Falls Church, Virginia or Fairfax, VA., The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.&nbsp; Responsibilities&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Enter financial data and transactions</li>
<li>Reconcile bank statements</li>
<li>Prepare financial reports and statements</li>
<li>Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered</li>
<li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable</li>
<li>Create accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations</li>
<li>Process payroll</li>
<li>Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded</li>
<li>Issue and prepare invoices</li>
<li>Perform Inventory reconciliations to books and records.</li>
<li>Post credit card transactions to proper expense accounts</li>
<li>Post expense reports to proper expense accounts</li>
<li>Perform reconciliations, noting and reporting discrepancies found in records</li>
<li>Board new employees in ADP</li>
<li>Prepares monthly sales tax, annual business tax and tangible property tax returns.</li>
<li>Assists in the administration of company’s health benefit programs.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field&nbsp;</li>
<li>Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position</li>
<li>Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)</li>
<li>Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems</li>
<li>Strong mathematical and analytical skills</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills</li>
<li>QuickBooks software experience a plus</li>
<li>ADP software payroll experience a plus</li>
