WHAT YOU'LL DO
The primary function of a Summit Point Paramedic/Firefighter is to provide Basic Life Support care to those in need at our facility within the guidelines set forth by the State of West Virginia Office of EMS. The paramedic/Firefighter should be able to operate and maintain ambulance and equipment and maintain skill sets, and certifications as required. Paramedic/Firefighters must protect the Summit Point Training Facility property which includes high speed racetracks, buildings, wooded areas, explosive ranges and other structures and areas. The position participates in fire suppression, vehicle extrication/stabilization, and standby for the explosives range.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
<ul>
<li>Perform daily check offs of equipment, ambulance, and fire truck to ensure they are in working order to respond to emergencies.</li>
<li>Perform triage and a variety of emergency medical treatments as an BLS provider as well as provide continuing care while enroute to the hospital. </li>
<li>Follow West Virginia State Office of EMS protocols which include both invasive and non-invasive medical treatments. Skills/Therapies are included but not limited to assessment and evaluation of the ill and injured, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, administration of medications, applications of dressings and bandages, advanced airways management, and immobilizations. </li>
<li>Operate an ambulance and fire apparatus in a safe manner driving both emergency and non-emergency both on public roadways and motorsports tracks. </li>
<li>Work alongside and coordinate patient care with other members of the emergency services team to ensure all work safely together and for the best outcome of the patient. </li>
<li>Employ safe lifting and moving techniques. </li>
<li>Act as a mentor/preceptor for new hire EMTs, Paramedics and Firefighters. </li>
<li>Communicate professionally and effectively with both clients, coworkers, and over the radio channels.</li>
<li>Complete run sheets and other required documentation in their entirety in a clear and through manner.</li>
<li>Operate firefighting equipment such as pumps, extinguishers, and extrication tools in a safe and effective manner.</li>
<li>Coordinate with EMS crew on safe extrication and rescue efforts.</li>
<li>Coordinate landing zones when needed for emergency evacuations.</li>
<li>Performed related duties as assigned. </li>
<li>Maintain all required certifications for the Paramedic/Firefighter position. </li>

POSITION TITLE: MEDICATION TECHNICIAN 7 AM to 7 PM

POSITION SUMMARY:
<ul>
<li>The essential functions of the job for the Medication Technician, requires, and may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of Viva Senior Living to include, but are not limited to the following:</li>
<li>Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.</li>
<li>Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED</li>
<li>Must have current Medication Technician Certification in Virginia</li>
<li>Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.</li>
<li>In exigent circumstances, the employee may be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).</li>
<li>Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.</li>
<li>Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.</li>
<li>Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.</li>
<li>Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.</li>
</ul>
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
<ul>
<li>Responsible for the accurate and timely distribution and documentation of medication for residents in accordance with each resident’s physician’s orders and applicable regulations.</li>
<li>Assist residents in maintaining their total wellbeing by following the established Plan of Care, providing assistance with activities of daily living, social activities, dietary assistance, and Viva Senior Living’s philosophies.</li>
<li>Supervise and care for residents on daily basis according to residents’ needs</li>
<li>Aid with activities of daily living</li>
<li>Assistance with bathing, shower, and shampoo if necessary</li>
<li>Help with dressing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair and fingernail care if needed</li>
<li>Observe, supervise, and record resident self-administration of prescribed medications</li>
<li>Report refusals and/or reactions to supervisor on duty</li>
<li>Direct residents and family members to appropriate staff for other needs or information</li>
<li>Order meal trays for residents when needed</li>
<li>Report and record observations of changes in residents’ condition to director or supervisor in the daily logbook. Transfer relevant information to the next shift through the shift-to-shift verbal report</li>
<li>Implement personal care plans for each resident</li>
<li>Be patient and understanding in communicating with staff, residents, and visitors. Speak slowly and clearly. Refer families to director or supervisor regarding status of residents when unsure of status</li>
<li>Provide assistance in dining room as needed</li>
<li>Administer medication as directed by supervisor</li>
<li>Answer emergency calls promptly and courteously, complete required paperwork afterward</li>
<li>Retrieve soiled linen and personal clothing from resident living areas. Sort and pre-soak linens as required before processing through washing machines</li>
<li>Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of a resident’s room. Empty waste baskets, wipe up spills, wash dishes, put away clothes, check refrigerator for spoiled food, and make beds, change linens</li>
<li>Check for unsecured throw rugs and extension cords</li>
<li>Observe condition of room/apartment and report anything in need of repair to maintenance</li>
<li>Document clearly and objectively on residents in logbook and on other documents</li>
<li>Participate in in-service educational programs as required by the community and state</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
Annual Health Requirements
<ul>
<li>Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.</li>
<li>Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required with exceptions for medical and religious accommodations.</li>

<li>Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.</li>
<li>Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.</li>
<li>Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.</li>
<li>Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.</li>
<li>Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents</li>
<li>Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.</li>
<li>May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.</li>
