Whitaker Construction, founded in 1953, has over 70years of experience in the heavy civil and underground utility construction industry. Whitaker, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company, has become one of the largest contractors in the intermountain area with more than 500 employees and nearly 50 crews. JOB SUMMARY:
Survey Technician I is an entry level apprentice position. This position is designed to move the individual to a Tech II position as soon as possible. A Tech I is to be expected to assist and follow instructions from the Survey Tech II position.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
 
Including but not limited to the list below.
 
Maintain survey equipment through regular cleaning and calibration.
Set up and operate survey instruments under the direction of Survey Tech II or Tech III
Record data, including field As-built measurements, Layout Points and Topographic points.
Assist in the preparation of reports, maps and drawings using AutoDesk, TBC, Carlson, and Microsoft Products.
Coordinates and schedules work of the department Survey Tech II and Tech III levels
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Must promote a culture of safety and awareness by practicing and enforcing safe work procedures.
Ability to learn survey field measurements and layout techniques. 
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.
 
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
Capable of obtaining a 14 CFR PART 107 REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATION
Capable of obtaining MSHA 24 HR New Miner Training.
High School Diploma or GED.
Capable of learning to operate Whitaker sUAS systems and software WINGTRA II, DJIm300, DJI Mavic 3E, Pix4d Mapper, Pix4d Matic, Pix4D Survey.
Train to become proficient with the survey and grade control software namely, Siteworks, Trimble Access, GCS900, Earthworks, X-Pad and SCS900.
Ability to learn and master image processing software for the purpose of generating accurate Orthorectified imagery and Surface Generation using Pix4Dmatic, Pix4DMapper and Global Mapper.
Ability to learn and operate GNSS receivers namely Trimble models SPS855, SPS986, R70 and repeaters.
Ability to learn and operate Trimble SPS930 and SX12 Total Station/Scanners
Those with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.).
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to become familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Upfront Plumbing Drains Heating and Air is currently hiring for a full-time Lead Plumber Installer to perform water re-pipes, drain re-pipes, and rough-in projects in the West Jordan, UT area. This plumbing position typically works Monday-Friday from 8 am - 5 pm. We pay our Lead Plumber Installers a competitive salary of $60,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus commission and bonus pay.
