LOCATION
The position is fully remote with the ideal candidate located within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., or Baltimore. This is not a full-time Construction Administration role, but the position will include field representation for multiple West Virginia University Medicine projects under construction (Berkeley, Fairmont, and Ruby campuses).
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for the design and technical systems for both small and large, complex healthcare projects from schematics through construction administration.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on healthcare projects. It will be important for the selected candidate to use their excellent internal and external communication skills both verbally and graphically to effectively oversee project team milestone deliverables while maintaining alignment with planned project goals. TYPICAL DUTIES

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

<li>Bachelor's degree and licensure as an Architect in the US required. NCARB Certification is preferred. </li>

<li>Completion of accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience. Registered architect is a requirement</li>
<li>Capable of managing and or supervising project teams of architects, engineers, and designers of medium and large projects</li>
<li>Demonstrate a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process</li>
<li>Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements</li>
<li>Knowledge of programming, planning, and building materials systems and performance</li>
<li>Qualifications/Proficiencies consistent with mid-level experience for a motivated and creative professional; able to design with inherent understanding of building systems; capable of designing projects for high quality clients</li>
<li>Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently. Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Google SketchUp is beneficial</li>

About the Role Seeking a Licensed Project Healthcare Architect with a strong background in designing and managing healthcare and medical office building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive project designs that integrate architectural and engineering elements, ensuring cohesive and functional solutions that meet client expectations.
This position plays a key role in mentoring design team members, overseeing project quality, and participating in client meetings including those for business development. The successful candidate will also be involved in documenting existing conditions and contributing to the technical direction of healthcare design projects.
Key Responsibilities
