As a senior-level engineer, the candidate will provide technical leadership on integration design, integration reliability, and modernization transition strategies while collaborating with architects, platform teams, and stakeholders.
Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:
<ul>
<li> Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.</li>
<li>At least 8 years of experience in application integration, backend engineering, or distributed systems roles.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and building services with Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience designing and implementing REST APIs and system-to-system integrations.</li>
<li>Strong experience with Kafka for event-driven architectures and messaging-based integrations.</li>
<li>Experience using Redis for caching and integration performance optimization.</li>
<li>Experience integrating with Oracle DB and troubleshooting data consistency issues across systems.</li>
<li>Experience deploying and operating services using Docker and Kubernetes.</li>
<li>Proficiency with GitHub for source control and collaboration.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience integrating or supporting legacy platforms including MUMPS (VistA), JSP, Apache Struts, Hibernate, Oracle WebLogic, and HL7 interfaces.</li>
<li>Familiarity with rules platforms such as IBM ODM in enterprise integration contexts.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis across distributed systems.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Experience leading integration design on modernization programs involving legacy-to-modern transitions.</li>
<li>Experience in regulated or government environments.</li>
<li>Experience developing integration standards, patterns, and reusable frameworks.</li>
<li>Experience supporting production operations, incident response, and operational readiness for integration services.</li>

Responsibilities
 Integration Architecture and Development:
<ul>
<li>Design and develop integrations across legacy and modern systems using REST APIs, event streaming, and messaging patterns.</li>
<li>Implement integration services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring WebFlux.</li>
<li>Define integration contracts, error-handling patterns, and end-to-end data flow expectations.</li>
</ul>
Legacy Platform Integration:
<ul>
<li>Develop and support integrations with legacy platforms and applications, including MUMPS (VistA) environments and Oracle WebLogic-hosted applications.</li>
<li>Maintain and enhance integrations involving JSP, Apache Struts, Hibernate, and Java-based legacy components.</li>
<li>Support HL7-driven interfaces and message-based integrations where applicable.</li>
</ul>
Event-Driven and Messaging Integrations:
<ul>
<li>Implement and support Kafka-based event flows to enable asynchronous processing and decoupled integrations.</li>
<li>Trace, troubleshoot, and optimize Kafka event pipelines to ensure reliable processing, ordering expectations, and operational observability.</li>
</ul>
Data Consistency, Security, and Interoperability:
<ul>
<li>Ensure data consistency and integrity across integrated systems, including Oracle DB-backed workflows.</li>
<li>Implement secure interoperability patterns, including authentication/authorization alignment and secure data exchange practices.</li>
<li>Apply integration resilience patterns including idempotency, retries, deduplication, and compensating actions.</li>
</ul>
Caching and Performance Optimization:
<ul>
<li>Use Redis for lookup caching, reference data access, and performance optimization in high-throughput integration paths.</li>
<li>Optimize cross-system workflows to reduce latency, improve throughput, and increase reliability.</li>
</ul>
Rules and Decision Integration Awareness:
<ul>
<li>Support integrations involving rules-driven processing where IBM ODM is part of the system landscape.</li>
<li>Coordinate integration behaviors and data contracts with rules execution inputs/outputs where required.</li>
</ul>
Containerized Deployment and Operations:
<ul>
<li>Package and deploy integration components using Docker.</li>
<li>Support deployment, scaling, and operational troubleshooting within Kubernetes environments</li>
</ul>
Troubleshooting, Incident Support, and Root Cause Analysis:
<ul>
<li>Diagnose and resolve complex integration failures across APIs, messaging flows, legacy systems, and databases.</li>
<li>Lead root-cause analysis efforts and implement preventive fixes to reduce recurrence.</li>
<li>Support production readiness and operational runbooks for integration services.</li>
</ul>
Collaboration, Documentation, and Technical Leadership:
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with system engineers, architects, and stakeholders to align integration designs with modernization goals.</li>
<li>Document integration flows, API specifications, event schemas, and system dependencies.</li>
<li>Maintain source code, integration artifacts, and documentation using GitHub.</li>
<li>Mentor engineers and contribute to integration standards, patterns, and best practices.</li>
</ul>
Continuous Improvement:
<ul>
<li>Continuously improve integration reliability, security, and maintainability through refactoring and modernization patterns.</li>
<li>Stay current with best practices in distributed systems, integration architecture, and event-driven design.</li>
</ul>
