The Pottstown Division of the&nbsp;H&amp;K Group, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to become a part of our team. This position entails the operation of heavy equipment in order to achieve daily production goals.  Responsibilities 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&amp;K Safety policies</li>
<li>Moves levers and depresses pedals to control operation, function and movement of machine</li>
<li>Feels lever and listens for stalling action of engine to operate equipment most efficiently</li>
<li>Cleans equipment as scheduled</li>
<li>Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked and stored</li>
<li>Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level)</li>
<li>Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition.</li>
<li>Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
 Qualifications 
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
<ul>
<li>One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training
<ul>
<li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Able to pass practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions</li>
<li>Problem solving</li>
<li>Ability to fit test &amp; utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>
<li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>
</ul>

&nbsp;Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
<ul>
<li>Two years of related experience and/or training</li>
<li>Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries</li>
<li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>
</ul>
