Overview
NATURE OF WORK
<ul>
<li>The person in this position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, guests, visitors, and assets and includes overseeing safety protocols to ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.</li>

<li>The person will be responsible for developing, enhancing, implementing and monitoring safety and loss control management policies, procedures, training programs, return to work programs, safety committees, loss control data/dashboard reports, and other elements vital for the reduction of incidents/ accidents in the workplace. This will also include site safety assessments, inspections and audits to identify and address health and safety hazards and safety compliance with OSHA and FDEP, assist with workplace injury investigations helping to identify root causes, implementation of corrective actions and in developing or providing specific safety training/education.</li>
<li>Documenting and reporting. Maintain records, prepare and submit necessary compliance documents, prepare and submit necessary permits required by regulatory agencies. Emergency preparedness, response plans. Conduct drills and ensure readiness for emergencies.</li>
<li>The Safety and Loss Control Manager is responsible for loss control, safety, health, fire prevention, emergency response planning, and associated training. This individual will assist in designing and delivering programs to meet federal, state, local, and corporate environmental safety and health regulations while maintaining the applicable records and documentation demonstrable during an inspection or audit.</li>
<li>Works with all departments, government agencies, industry associations, and peers within our industry. This position reports to the Director of Risk Management or designee and is an exempt position.</li>

<li>Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, data analyses and other activities to identify and evaluate health, safety, environmental, and other risks to employes, guests, and visitors and to ensure compliance with relevant governmental, internal, and insurance safety standards.</li>
<li>Work directly with field management and team members to promote a unified approach and personal ownership of safety.</li>
<li>Implement safe working techniques and reinforce safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.</li>
<li>Inspect properties to ensure compliance and prepares reports and provides guidance to abate workplace hazards or discrepancies.</li>

<li>Coach management and employees on driving safety behaviors to minimize incidents.</li>

<li>Investigate potential losses and develop prevention plans.</li>
<li>Coordinate and oversee inquiries/inspections by insurance carriers, safety consultants and government agencies (OSHA, EPA, etc.), including maintaining subsequent reports, accident records, logs and summaries and other documentation to ensure compliance with insurance, government and internal requirements.</li>
<li>Prepare and maintain environmental and regulatory records.</li>
<li>Inform properties of regulatory compliance issues.</li>
<li>Collaborate with appropriate location contacts such as facility directors for applicable safety solutions.</li>

Qualifications

What You Will Do:
<ul>
<li>Set up, adjust and operate basic machine tools to produce precision components</li>
<li>Perform CNC machine setup, including fixture setup and tool changes</li>
<li>Load tools, verify offsets, and ensure proper tool performance</li>
<li>Align and secure workpieces and tools with accuracy</li>
<li>Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specs</li>
<li>Perform quality inspections using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)</li>

The Intern contributes to the mission of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops by supporting the Office of National Collections-Catholic Home Mission. The intern will have opportunities to enrich his or her academic program or career preparation by supporting the work of the Catholic Home Missions staff under the supervision of the program's Director.
Activities my include conducting research on specific dioceses/eparchies or regions within the United States and its territories, surveying grantees, reviewing and summarizing final reports for promotional use. 
The main goal of the internship is to assist the Subcommittee and Staff to utilize collected data in an effective manner that contributes to the bishops' mission directive for the Conference and the CHM Subcommittee mandate. 
Responsibilities (depending upon skill level of intern):
A) Grant Management 
· Provide staff support on specific tasks, such as communications with grantees (dioceses and eparchies), creation of targeted e-mailing lists, surveys, and reports.
· Review grant reports for completeness; write summaries and extract material to create impact narratives for use in promotional activities.

 B) Promotions/Marketing
· Assist in obtaining all necessary legal releases related to text and photos/images/videos.
· Develop strategies to increase awareness of our work via social media, websites, Catholic media (radio and TV) and CHM Newsletter, Neighbors. 

C) Special Projects - Assist with compiling procedures manual and archiving.

Education: Completion of 2 years of college. Active undergraduate or graduate student. 
Major: Statistical/Data Analysis, Church Administration, Pastoral Ministry, Marketing or Communications
Other Specialized Training: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Statistical Analysis software are necessary; knowledge of the Catholic Church; writing and research skills preferred.
