Job Description
B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Director of Quality Control to work with the International Group. The Director of Quality Control will develop, implement and direct the corporate quality control program. Candidate will act as a resource for project managers, site quality control managers and quality control field personnel. Candidate will be required to visit job sites regularly for the purpose of quality control audits.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate with the Project Engineer and the Construction Superintendent in all matters related to the field
· Represent BLHI in all matters pertaining to Quality Control with the client
· Manage the review and evaluation of technical requirements and documents for specified quality criteria
· Develop and manage QC inspection and test procedures and instructions for all trades
· Monitor on-site and off-site QC facilities and activities assuring compliance with test procedure requirements
· Oversee and manage the QC staff to ensure that all contract requirements are being met
· Manage Quality Control inspections for all trades including closures and punch-lists
· Manage project close-out and commissioning activities
· Update and maintain the QC Plan, to include all documentation relevant to the implementation of the QC Program on and off site
· Consolidate and issue daily QC reporting for all trades for the project record
Requirements:
· US citizen
· Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US Government
· Ability to travel internationally to support the project sites
· Undergraduate Degree in an Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related
· 10+ years’ experience in the field of Construction Quality Control
· Experience in high-end, high-rise, commercial construction projects
Preferences:
· Experience in highly technical Department of Defense or Department of State projects
· Experience as QC Manager on a successful DOD or DOS project overseas
· Experience with the USACE QMS program
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
· ACI Certification
Physical Demands:
To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:
· Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
· Have the ability to stoop, bend, walk, kneel, crouch and crawl
· Have the ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 25 lbs. of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.
· Have the ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing required
· Possess the manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skills
· Possess a high degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environment
