<li>Participates in case conference to discuss multidisciplinary team responsibilities, patient progress, plans for continued care, etc.</li>
<li>Addresses and supports patient/family cultural practices, as long as such practices do not harm others or interfere with the planned course medical therapy. </li>
<li>Promotes and provides patient/family/caregiver education using various verbal and written communication techniques that take into account the patient's/family's cultural, ethnic, and/or personal needs or preferences. </li>
<li>Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in planned and delegated services performed for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards and assuring patient care needs are met. </li>
<li>Supervision includes regularly scheduled patient record reviews, conferences and a visit to the patient's home with or without the COTA present at least every 30 days unless state laws require more frequently. </li>
<li>Plans discharge appropriately; provides information about community resources to address patient ongoing needs. </li>
<li>Knowledgeable of federal, state regulations and Agency's policies and procedures regarding patient care. </li>
<li>Communicates with all members of the health care team, including physicians appropriately and in timely manner regarding patient changes in status, findings or needs. </li>
<li>Notifies the physician, the Director of Nursing and other health care team members of any changes in the patient's condition and the need to modify the plan of care. </li>
<li>Maintains currency of knowledge and skills. </li>
<li>Participates in the Agency's Quality Improvement program. </li>
<li>Attends Agency meetings and in-services as required. </li>
<li>Obtains appropriate number of continuing education credits to maintain re-licensure status. </li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Education: Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association; or,</li>
<li>Is eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association; or,</li>
<li>Has two (2) years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, and has achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved, or sponsored by the US Public Health Service except for those individuals initially licensed by the State or seeking qualification as an Occupational Therapist after December 31, 1977</li>
<li>Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist for the State of Ohio</li>
<li>Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience as an Occupational Therapist</li>
<li>Occupational Therapists who supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) must have two (2) years home care experience and one (1) year supervisory experience</li>

Position Summary
As an Endoscopy Technician, you will be an integral part of the gastroenterology team, assisting in various procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the endoscopy unit. Your role involves direct patient care, technical support during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Essential Functions

<li>Function as Endoscopy Technician (Endo Tech) during gastroenterology procedures, working directly with the Physician and circulating nurse.</li>
<li>Reviews the updated schedule to assist in preparation of the procedure room.</li>
<li>Assist with patient positioning, considering body alignment, circulation, and pressure points.</li>
<li>Assist physicians and anesthesia personnel as needed during surgical procedures.</li>
<li>Operates and demonstrates proficiency in utilizing scope processor.</li>
<li>Work with the anesthesia department with stocking and ordering anesthesia supplies as needed.</li>
<li>Participate in the turnover of the Procedure Room in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Practice and monitor aseptic techniques to prevent infection and contamination.</li>
<li>Participate in the surgical time-out process per facility policy to ensure patient safety.</li>
<li>Review and update physician preference cards as needed with the supervision of the Clinical Manager.</li>
