Position Overview: The Patient Service Representative greets all patients and manages patient intake. The Patient Service Representative is responsible for clerical and organizational tasks like file organizing, scheduling appointments, assisting staff as needed.
Essential Responsibilities:

<li>Welcomes patients and visitors to the office and directs questions to appropriate staff members. Checks patients in and out for their scheduled visit while adhering to our 5-Star standard of patient care.</li>
<li>Schedules, reschedules and cancels patient appointments in alignment with provider schedules and availability.</li>
<li>Receives and supports patient calls. Places reminder calls and confirms appointments for intake patients. Assist with patient portal set up. Ensures patient paperwork is completed before time of appointment.</li>
<li>Verifies insurance coverage and ensures patient is eligible to receive services. Obtains patient Information by requesting completed applications, medical information and insurances; verifying and clarifying information; informing and explaining patient and family members of services.</li>
<li>Collects co-pays and other payments from patients. Reconciles cash/check payment receipts generated from the EHR with cash on hand at the end of each shift.</li>
<li>Verifies demographic and insurance information is correct and acquires any other information necessary for the appointment.</li>
<li>Retrieves required patient forms and assessments, sequences paperwork, adds new patient record forms, and uploads into patient chart. Completes clear and concise documentation in E.H.R. when communicating with patients.</li>
<li>Monitors and responds to patient voicemails and portal messages through E.H.R. system. Relays message to provider or appropriate party as needed. Helps maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records within patient charts.</li>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· &nbsp; &nbsp;Pick up trash on grounds. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Clean out hallways. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Assist with trash-outs of vacated units including but not limited to removal of debris, furniture, appliances, painting and minor repair work. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Perform entry level maintenance tasks under supervision including but not limited to changing light bulbs, replacing window screens, replacing air filters, cleaning dryer vents, replacing batteries in smoke alarms. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS &amp; KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS· &nbsp; &nbsp;Currently enrolled in the J. Everett Light Center Building Facilities &amp; Maintenance program. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to read, write, speak, and interpret basic instructions, simple correspondence and present information one-on-one or in small groups. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide by 10s &amp; 100s. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions with common sense understanding. Ability to deal with problems that involve few variables in standardized situations. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Beginner computer skills.&nbsp;PHYSICAL DEMANDS: · &nbsp; &nbsp;Regularly must stand most of the day, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or bend. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Regularly must lift up to 25 pounds. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to use all cleaning equipment. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Occasionally must talk or listen. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Occasionally must lift 25 pounds or more with assistance. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Rarely must sit, climb, or balance. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Rarely must lift more than 100 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT:· &nbsp; &nbsp;Will regularly spend time in outdoor weather conditions while moving about the property for basic job functions. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Occasionally must work in conditions that are wet or humid, extremely cold, or extremely hot (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles. · &nbsp; &nbsp;Rarely must work in high, precarious places, near toxic or caustic chemicals, with risk of electrical shock, with vibration. · &nbsp; &nbsp;There is no risk of radiation or working with explosives.
