We are seeking a Foster Care Coordinator/Home Developer to join our Foster Care and Adoption Program. As a Foster Care Coordinator/Home Developer, you will Shine Hope as you are responsible for the coordination and implementation of recruiting families to become Buckner foster parents and promoting Buckner Foster Care services to the community. You will also provide an ongoing assessment of the prospective families. The role will also provide monitoring and development of the licensed foster parents. Join our team and shine hope in the lives of others! 
What you'll do:
<ul>
<li>Coordinate and implement the recruitment of foster parents for the Foster Care program. Recruit foster homes by writing letters, placing ads and giving presentations; take inquiries from potential foster families.</li>
<li>Recruit and develop foster homes; participate in public relations assignments directed for purposes of educating the community about resource need within the region of service.</li>
<li>Timely and accurately complete the required licensing, assessment, and support processes to ensure that families meet Licensing Standards and are appropriately prepared to care for children; make recommendations for utilization; introduce new families to field/adoptive staff for future utilization; amend individual licenses relative to caps, city, age ranges, etc. and renew licenses at required intervals.</li>
<li>Maintain a supportive relationship with foster care resources, which includes identifying on-going training and support needs; assisting in obtaining such services along with other team members; coordinating, with assistance from other team members; providing support and strengthening Department relationships with foster parents; monitoring licensed foster or adoptive homes as required to ensure the home is in compliance with Licensing Standards and assisting families in resolving compliance issues.</li>
<li>Work with foster parent in coordinating visits with placing agency and/or family for family visits and contact. Assist foster parents with transportation for family visits and other necessary appointments.</li>
<li>Assist foster parents with age-appropriate therapeutic and leisure activities.</li>
<li>Consult with TDFPS staff with recommendations about the selection of foster family resources that best meet the needs of the children, which includes recommendations for support services to maintain the resource.</li>
<li>Conduct investigations relative to complaints about licensed foster /adoptive homes in accordance with the TDFPS; identify issues and assist families in developing corrective action plans; and make recommendations for licensing enforcement when appropriate.</li>
<li>Participate in regional needs assessment process by identifying and prioritizing foster / adoptive care needs at the local level.</li>
<li>Provide / maintain reports, statistics, records and documentation of activities on a monthly basis or as required.</li>
</ul>

Job Description
The Latin American Youth Center’s Housing Department strives to promote reunification, family preservation, independence, and/or self-sufficient living for our youth by offering wrap-around services in a safe, stable, culturally competent setting. The Case Manager leads the coordination of wrap-around services for youth and is responsible for the provision of proactive, comprehensive, intensive case management services in the housing, health, educational, employment, legal, recreational, and social domains in LAYC Housing Programs. The Case Manager works diligently with youth to ensure that they have the skills needed for reunification or self-sufficiency.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Helps create a safe and inviting environment for program participants.</li>
<li>Assesses needs of youth and children; develops and coordinates case plans; and secures necessary services and resources.</li>
<li>Builds a meaningful and healthy working relationship with youth and their families, promoting healing and guidance.</li>
<li>Assists with the preparation of units for client move-in and housing inspections. </li>
<li>Ensures that the provision of services is in line with programs and participants’ safety, well-being, and permanent outcomes.</li>
<li>Advocates on behalf of and with youth.</li>
<li>Caseload of up to 12 clients.</li>
<li>Collaborates with other community stakeholders to meet the developmental needs of youth and their families when possible.</li>
<li>Participates in the selection and interview process for potential program participants.</li>
<li>Conducts orientation sessions with new program participants.</li>
<li>Fully participates in teaching youth basic life skills by providing hands-on guidance and assistance, i.e., walk to the metro and buy a fare card with youth, models cleaning the kitchen and other common areas of apartments, accompanies and instructs youth on dry cleaning, etc.</li>
<li>Develops, monitors and advances the Independent Case Plan (ICP), ensuring timely goal achievement and client progress.</li>
<li>Meets weekly with program participants to work on building relationships and advancing client goals.</li>
<li>Conducts home visits or apartment inspections to assess the safety, strengths, and needs of youth and, in some cases, their biological families and as related to their overall case plan.</li>
<li>Assists participants in scheduling appointments and accompanies participants, as necessary, to legal, medical, dental, and other appointments.</li>
<li>Assists with implementation of life skills curriculum, including individual life skills sessions and preparing and delivering group workshops.</li>
<li>Develops, monitors, and updates participants’ discharge and aftercare plan by delineated deadline.</li>
<li>Respond to crisis situations and intervene to resolve immediate problems in consultation with the Program Manager and Clinical Coordinator.</li>
<li>Enters case notes and other data in various databases per contract requirements within 24 hours of contact.</li>
<li>Must be available to respond in person as necessary to emergency calls after office hours on a rotating basis.</li>
<li>Improves professional skills by attending workshops, seminars, and training sessions as allowed by time and funding constraints. Attends at least 40 hours of training annually.</li>
<li>Supports with programmatic tasks, including preparing and submitting monthly reports related to their caseload, scheduling annual housing quality inspections, conducting peer reviews of case files, and auditing other Case Manager's notes.</li>
<li>Leads efforts to achieve permanent housing arrangements, providing support through the entire attainment process.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager, Director, Deputy Director in support of LAYC’s Housing Department.</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>BA in Social Work or related field with experience working with at-risk children and/or youth preferred.</li>
<li>Experience working with youth with diverse backgrounds and respect for diversity and differences among youth, families, and communities.</li>
<li>Understands child/youth development concepts or the desire to learn.</li>
</ul>
SKILLS &amp; QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Ability to actively engage youth, families, and community members.</li>
<li>Able to act as a support for youth, families, and colleagues.</li>
<li>Ability to plan and implement events consistent with the needs of children/youth and in the context of available resources.</li>
<li>Knowledge in mediation or conflict resolution.</li>
<li>Knowledge of community and local resources.</li>
<li>Flexible schedule including late work hours and weekends as needed.</li>
<li>Bilingual or fluent/proficient: English and Spanish required.</li>
<li>Knowledge of case management, monitoring and reporting.</li>
<li>Ability to implement Positive Youth Development (PYD) techniques upon completion of PYD training.</li>
<li>Ability to work with minimum supervision.</li>
<li>Driver’s license and clean driving record.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Computer proficiency, including, Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and databases such as ETO).</li>
<li>Complete criminal and child abuse/neglect clearances.</li>
