Ophthalmic Clinic Technician&nbsp;
As an Ophthalmic Technician you will preform a number of pre-exam diagnostic tests, collect and update patient health information to allow our physicians to properly treat and diagnose our patients, as well as educating our patients on the purpose and details of their appointments, and much more. Responsibilities &amp; Duties
<ul>
<li>Welcomes and establishes rapport with patients</li>
<li>Initiates patient evaluation and accurately documents the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, current ocular and general medications, and all other pertinent ocular findings in accordance with compliance guidelines</li>
<li>Informs and educates patients on the purpose of tests being performed and how they will be affected during those tests</li>
<li>Performs pre-exam testing which includes visual acuity assessment (including pinhole), confrontational visual field testing, assess extraocular muscles, pupillary evaluation, tonometry, pupillary dilation, Optical Coherence Tomography and all other patient services as requested by the physician including special tests such as color vision screening</li>
<li>Assists in the efficient movement of patients through the clinic flow</li>
<li>Has working knowledge of eye terminology, anatomy, pathologies, and ocular pharmacology</li>
<li>Carries out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective, and professional manner</li>
<li>Thoroughly understands and follows proper triage protocol</li>
<li>Performs opening and closing duties on clinic days</li>
<li>Ensures daily cleaning and stocking of each exam room with necessary supplies</li>
<li>Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, patient's family, and clinical personnel, which includes but is not limited to: maintaining supplies, equipment and forms, and notifying appropriate personnel when cleaning supplies or repair of equipment is needed</li>

Ophthalmic Technician

Overview
As a Physician's Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will work under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, and assist the Physician in providing medical care and treatment to the inmate population, which includes addressing behavioral health disorders. You will coordinate patient care plans by conducting assessments, developing plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes, all while working collaboratively with the healthcare team and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations at the agency, local, state, and federal levels.
 
Responsibilities
• Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols. • Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities. • Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures. • Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications. • Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.

You will also be responsible for monitoring the clinical needs of inmates on your caseload, providing staff training on mental health topics, and documenting all findings in accordance with company and facility policies. Your role is critical in ensuring that inmates receive appropriate mental health services and care while incarcerated.

<li>Conduct screening, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and provide appropriate recommendations for their level of care.</li>

They work under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that the program is effectively and efficiently meeting the needs of the incarcerated population. The Psychiatrist provides direct patient care, conducts psychiatric evaluations, and prescribes medication as needed.
