Overview
The Mental Health Professional provides clinical services to individuals under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor or Mental Health Director. They conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide evidenced-based psychotherapeutic interventions. Additionally, they provide mental health consultation and training to facility staff. 
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provide clinical services to persons served in compliance with policies and relevant professional standards, including individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and diagnostic evaluations. </li>
<li>Complete relevant clinical documentation, including clinical service reports and mental health treatment records, in a timely and professional manner. </li>
<li>Provide consultation services to institutional staff, including screening committees and psychiatric staff, regarding the mental status and management of persons served. </li>
</ul>

<li>Participate in staff meetings, in-service training programs, and specialized clinical services and/or program development activities. </li>
<li>Maintain accountability for services provided through participation in the Quality Improvement program and timely and accurate recording of activities. </li>

Qualifications

<li>Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university. </li>

Experience

<li>Coursework and professional experience that indicates knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, psychological assessment techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation. </li>
</ul>
Licenses/Certifications

<li>LMSW, LPC, or similar licensure in the state from the appropriate state licensing board; Must maintain CPR certification and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required. </li>

The Psychiatric Technician performs technical and manual tasks related to patient care under the direction of the Regional Mental Health Director, Health Services Administrator, or higher licensed medical professional. The job duties include providing direct care, support, and assistance to patients with mental illnesses or behavioral disorders, as well as assisting with therapeutic activities, medication management, and crisis intervention. The Psychiatric Technician ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. 
 
Responsibilities

<li>Collects basic data and contributes to the evaluation of individualized interventions for mental health patients in accordance with their care or treatment plan. </li>
<li>Provides direct patient care, including basic nursing services, medication administration, communication skills for patient care and education, and contributing to self-care teaching plans. </li>

<li>Maintains communication with Psych RN, LCSW/LMFT, MD/psychiatrist, or NP/PA regarding patients' mental health needs while maintaining confidentiality. </li>
<li>Transcribes doctor's orders, assists with program admission and discharge paperwork, and manages and organizes mental health clinical documentation and records. </li>
<li>Assists with electronic data input and data gathering, continuity of care, discharge planning, attendance in program meetings, and gathering persons served identification and social information. </li>

Overview

<li>Makes referrals for tests and consultations, monitors ongoing care of medical conditions, and provides education on medical diagnoses to patients and their families. </li>
