We are searching for our next SUPER STAR ! Position Summary
The Phlebotomist provides assistance in the examination and treatment of patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic, under clinical supervision. Collaborates with the core PACT Team (Primary Care Provider, RN and LPN/LVN) and expanded PACT Team including family/caregiver, VA, and community-based services involved in developing the patient care plan. This schedule is Monday , Tuesday ,Thursday ,Friday 8am-4pm
 
Core Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Actively assists with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests.</li>
<li>Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests and treatments, including glucometers, pulse oximeters, nebulizers, oxygen equipment, spirometry, eye exams, etc.</li>
<li>Submits any received laboratory and radiology results to medical providers and provides private practice results to VA for scanning or scans results into patient’s medical records after the provider has reviewed.</li>
<li>Schedule clinic appointments. Specific responsibilities relative to scheduling, PCMM assignments; Save and Recapture duties related to PACT team assignment.</li>
<li>Verifies any and all clinical reminders “due” at the time of each patient visit are completed prior to check out.</li>
<li>Complies with all VA and company training requirements.</li>
<li>Assists in co-managed care collaboration with non-VA providers, and facilities.</li>
<li>Provides patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention, wellness, related health issues and healthy lifestyle choices. Advises in services available through community resources.• Maintains confidentiality of veterans’ data and information.</li>
<li>Fulfill compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Joint Commission(JC), Environment of Care (EOC) oversight, lab compliance and other related items.</li>
<li>Remain focused on achieving excellent clinical outcomes through the specified VA guidelines.</li>
<li>Must provide excellent customer service to each veteran, both in person and over the phone, as well as to fellow colleagues and clinic visitors.</li>
<li>Participate in the clinic’s outreach events to help support the clinic’s enrollment initiatives.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Diploma or certificate of an accredited program as approved by the state. Certified and experienced in phlebotomy preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum two-years’ experience as an MA in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred. Specific requirements could vary based on individual VA contract.</li>
<li>Must be remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA). Credentialing may be required based on the individual VA contract.</li>
<li>Must comply with and maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.</li>
<li>Current certification in Basic Life Support (must be renewed periodically as specified by the certifying agency – AHA valid for two years, e.g.) and in ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract</li>
<li>Proficiency in written and spoken English.</li>

We are searching for our next SUPER STAR ! As the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will have the opportunity to educate pregnant mothers and families about the benefits of breastfeeding. The Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will also assist mothers in successfully breastfeeding their infants.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Teach classes on the advantages of breastfeeding and the management of normal breastfeeding experiences.</li>
<li>Provide information and promote breastfeeding among peers; addressing specific concerns of expectant mothers, and correcting misinformation which may prevent a pregnant woman from breastfeeding.</li>
<li>Provide hands-on assistance to mothers with breastfeeding problems which includes, latching and pumping breastmilk.</li>
<li>Counsel pregnant and breastfeeding mothers on a one-to-one basis.</li>
<li>Sanitize breastfeeding room and counseling offices after each use with Cavi-wipes.</li>
<li>Support women during a normal breastfeeding experiences, identify breastfeeding experiences that are not the norm, and make appropriate referrals.</li>
<li>Counsel by telephone on breastfeeding problems and make follow-up phone calls.</li>
<li>Distribute breast pumps to those WIC participants who demonstrate a need.</li>
<li>Provide support and information to breastfeeding mothers who may need advice to continue breastfeeding while working and/or attending school.</li>
<li>Make hospital and/or home visits when necessary.</li>
<li>Answer breastfeeding calls received on breastfeeding helpline for CentroMed WIC.</li>

Education: Complete the DSHS approved twenty-hour peer counselor class.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
 
Experience: Must have successfully breastfed for a minimum of four months or successfully express breastmilk.
 
Work Schedule: Must be available to WIC clients outside usual clinic hours and outside WIC environment and at any WIC clinic.
 
Other: Must be receiving WIC or have received WIC. Must be able to read and write in English, and preferably be bilingual/bicultural.
