Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation is hiring a Full Time Director of Health Information Managment.

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain resident medical records and health information systems in accordance with current federal and state guidelines and established privacy policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsbilities
-
Respond to requests for medical record information by insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, VA or healthcare providers as authorized and in accordance with the HIPPA privacy and security requirements.

Ensure medical records are properly completed, assembled, coded, signed, indexed, etc., before filing.

Batch resident information into the computer and retrieve resident demographic information as appropriate or as instructed.

Complete medical record and documentation competencies as directed.

Audit and thin medical records per facility policy and as directed.

Coordinate with hospital and admission office regarding proper ICD-10 coding as acceptable for PDPM and other reimbursement methodologies.

Manages nursing supplies and PAR levels for all units.

Facilitates resolution of issues regarding M.D. non-compliance.

Retrieve medical records when requested by authorized personnel.
Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Experience:

Must possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPPA requirements, coding and indexing.

On-the-job training provided in medical record and health information system procedures.
Specific Requirements:

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology.

Be knowledgeable in computers, data retrieval, input and ouput functions, etc.

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Must pass a criminal background check
