The Associate Dean will play a crucial role in leadership for the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) in the years ahead. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean and CEPS Administrative team on planning and implementing college strategic initiatives. This includes supporting CEPS administrative leaders in equity-focused program assessment and accreditation, culturally responsive curriculum and program development, cultivation of business and community partnerships, and strategic management of course offerings and scheduling for the college. The Associate Dean also has an important role in facilitating the implementation of policies and procedures related to the college and the university. The Role:
The Associate Dean is a leadership partner to the Dean. Primary responsibilities include supervision, coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, general education, and graduate education; implementation of College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination. The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.&nbsp;
Job Duties Support for the Dean: -&nbsp;Collaborate with the Dean on planning college strategic initiatives, participate in college fundraising, and coordinate implementation of CEPS strategic priorities. -&nbsp;Provide CEPS administrative leaders support in areas of culturally responsive curriculum development, equity-focused institutional assessment and improvement, human resource management, faculty/staff development and performance evaluations, and budget and finance. -&nbsp;Support the Dean in decision-making, information gathering, report draft preparation, meeting attendance, and follow-through on matters assigned to the chairs and interdisciplinary program directors. -&nbsp;Collaborate with the other Associate Deans. -&nbsp;Collaborate to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning, student satisfaction, and student retention in all student populations. -&nbsp;Attend Associate Deans and Academic Affairs meetings. -&nbsp;Act in the Dean’s absence.
Academic Programs and Curricular Management: -&nbsp;Provide strategic management of general education, graduate education, and major program and course offerings, as well as new program development. -&nbsp;Assist with CurricuLog approval changes. -&nbsp;Review and approve course schedules. -&nbsp;Attend Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee meetings. -&nbsp;Support collaboration across units with graduate education and research, including grant proposals. -&nbsp;Provide consultations and advocacy for student concerns.
Communications/Community/College: -&nbsp;Work closely with the Dean, the Director of Development, and the Alumni Relations Coordinator to assist in program development activities and newsletter articles. - Encourage and support business, industry, and community partnerships. -&nbsp;Assist with media relations pertaining to CEPS programs. -&nbsp;Interact with faculty, administrators, staff, students, alumni, other University constituencies, and outside agencies.
Policy Coordination and Committee Membership: -&nbsp;Represent the college on committees as assigned. -&nbsp;Work with the Dean to maintain policies and procedures related to the college and the university. -&nbsp;Approve grade changes, incompletes, independent studies, and internships consistent with university and program policies.
Supervision: -&nbsp;Oversee the supervision of the Director of Advising and the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator. -&nbsp;Clearly define performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring. Conduct formal performance evaluations. -&nbsp;Recognize value of and promote diverse workforce. Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a discipline associated with programs represented in the College of Education and Professional Studies. A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support tenure in one of the CEPS’s academic departments. Demonstrated successful departmental or college-level administrative, leadership, and budget experience in an institution of higher education. Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of inclusion and equity issues within a residential liberal arts environment Collaborative and forward-thinking leadership style with the ability to cultivate and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to benefit the success of students, colleagues, and initiatives. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated expertise in analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. Experience with culturally responsive curriculum development and with assessment of programmatic, general education, and course-level outcomes for accreditation. Assistant Professor of Sociology - Environmental Inequality/Climate Change

Description The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking one (1) full-time pathologist for appointment to join our Hematopathology Division on the School of Medicine’s clinician-teacher pathway. The qualified candidate will become the Division Head of Hematopathology, CAP/CLIA director of the Hematopathology Laboratory and Quality Director of the Clinical Trials/Developmental Hematopathology subdivision. Clinical responsibilities will include reporting of morphology for lymph nodes, tissues, bloods and marrows, as well as flow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) and may include molecular diagnostic testing, hemoglobin electrophoresis and coagulation reporting, depending on the interests of the candidate. Educational activities include teaching hematology / hematopathology to students, technologists, residents and fellows. &nbsp;Applicants are expected to be involved in administrative aspects of the lab, including new test development, and develop an area of focused research / scholarly work.
This appointment may be at the rank of Associate or full Professor, without tenure due to reasons of funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
The base salary range for this position will be: Associate Professors: $21,903 to $30,049 per month ($262,831 to $360,592 annually); Professors: $26,023 to $39,377 per month ($312,274 to $472,526 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.&nbsp;
Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement for administrative service as division head.&nbsp;
Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024, but is flexible.

Responsibilities: Strategy and Financial Leadership:

<li>Direct and manage the assets of the College and develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the College.</li>

<li>Arrange for the preparation of the audited financial reports by external auditors.</li>
<li>Oversee the management of Information Technology, including critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise data and intelligence, computing hardware and software, and instructional technology.</li>
<li>Oversee the management of facilities including new construction, renovation, and non-routine maintenance.</li>
<li>Maintain oversight of Risk Management and Property Insurance and collaborate with Human Resources on the financial oversight of other insurance (including health, life, dental).</li>

Fundraising and Endowment:

<li>Oversee endowment investments as prescribed by the Investment Committee of the Board and advise the President and key stakeholders, including administration, on strategic use of endowment funds.</li>
<li>Partner with the Vice President of Advancement to ensure effective stewardship of gifts to the College.</li>
<li>Represent the College externally as needed, especially in banking and lease negotiations. Manage bond indebtedness and banking and auditing relationships.</li>

Staff Supervision and Development:

Viable candidates will have at least 10 years of directly relevant experience, including in positions in which they had supervisory responsibility. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Under general supervision, conducts investigative research, laboratory research, and farm maintenance
requiring the application and analysis of standard tests, procedures, and abilities as defined by a particular

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:&nbsp;

<li>Maintain a laboratory notebook with accurate, reliable, and complete records.</li>
<li>Drive University/State vehicles Assists other research staff by performing standard designated procedures associated with experiments and/or projects.</li>
<li>Perform laboratory experiments in a field of agricultural/scientific research.</li>
<li>Analyze data from experiments; prepares graphics and text for presentation and publication.</li>
<li>Review up-to-date scientific literature extracting information relevant to ongoing, proposed, or possible research projects.</li>
<li>May assist in developing written progress reports. Apply appropriate quality controls to ensure validity and reliability of results; identify results which exceed recommended or desired tolerances.</li>
<li>Train student employees, graduate students and new research assistants in laboratory techniques and safety procedures; assists in coordinating work activities.</li>
<li>Maintain records as required.</li>
<li>Assist in maintenance of greenhouse, agricultural fields, etc.</li>
<li>Maintain inventory and maintain the laboratory in a clean and orderly manner.</li>
<li>Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Agriculture or a related field; 1-2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Research Assistant

Position Description
The&nbsp;<a href="https://salc.uchicago.edu/" target="_blank">Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations</a>&nbsp;at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in the study of Islamicate South Asia to begin July 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. Research expertise may be in any period between the tenth century and 1947, and may focus on any region of South Asia, including Afghanistan.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a wide-ranging familiarity with Islamic textual traditions and be knowledgeable in the cultural history of Islam in the subcontinent. Applicants are expected to have expertise in at least one relevant South Asian language, such as Urdu, and a solid command of Arabic and/or Persian. They will have an active research agenda leading to publication in leading venues in their area of specialization, be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level classes in English, and to teach advanced reading classes in their language(s) of expertise. Candidates must have completed all requirements for receipt of a PhD in a relevant field by the start date of the appointment.
