A team member may make several deliveries per shift. PUSHING: Pushing is performed to move trays which are placed on dollies. A stack of trays on a dolly is approximately 24”-30” and requires a force of up to 7.5 pounds to push. Trays may also be pulled. CLIMBING: Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance. During delivery of product, navigation of five or more flights of stairs may be required. STOOPING/BENDING: Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station. Toe room is present, but workers are unable to flex their knees while standing at this station. Duration of this position is approximately 40-45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously during the day. Forward bending is also present at the front counter when stocking ingredients. CROUCHING/SQUATTING: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas. REACHING: Reaching is performed continuously; up, down, and forward. Workers reach above 72” occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects to and from shelves. Location - Syracuse, NYPosition Summary
The Labor &amp; Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive obstetric care to patients during labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn transition. This role requires flexibility to float between Labor &amp; Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units and strong clinical expertise in obstetric nursing within an acute care hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>
Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients and newborns
</li>
<li>
Monitor maternal and fetal status, including fetal heart rate interpretation
</li>
<li>
Assist with and circulate during cesarean sections
</li>
<li>
Scrub for cesarean sections (preferred)
</li>
<li>
Support vaginal and operative deliveries in collaboration with physicians and midwives
</li>
<li>
Provide immediate postpartum and newborn care
</li>
<li>
Float between Labor &amp; Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units as needed
</li>
<li>
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
</li>
<li>
Administer medications and IV therapies per provider orders
</li>
<li>
Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
</li>
<li>
Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record
</li>
<li>
Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and participate in rapid response situations
</li>
<li>
Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>
Active New York State RN license
</li>
<li>
BLS certification (must be current or able to recertify)
</li>
<li>
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Labor &amp; Delivery experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care hospital of similar size and acuity
</li>
<li>
Demonstrated experience circulating cesarean sections (required)
</li>
<li>
Ability to work independently with minimal orientation and supervision
</li>
<li>
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>
Experience scrubbing cesarean sections
</li>
<li>
Experience floating between L&amp;D, Postpartum, and Nursery units
</li>
<li>
EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience
</li>
<li>
Experience in large hospitals or trauma centers
</li>
</ul>
Traveler Eligibility Requirements
<ul>
<li>
Travelers must have prior experience in hospitals of equal or greater size and acuity
</li>
<li>
No history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation
</li>
<li>
No history of professional liability claims
</li>
</ul>
Pre-Employment Requirements
