<li>This position provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote our clients’ success in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits</li>
<li>Responsibilities include assisting clients with personal care and hygiene, therapies, and driving and accompanying clients to appointments, activities, and other outings</li>
<li>Candidates must be comfortable working with a variety of medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients</li>

Requirements:

LOCATIONS: Park Lane Elementary, Darby, PA 
Out of School Time (OST ECS) program at Episcopal Community Services is currently looking for Assistant Group Supervisors to assist with leading its Out of School Time Programs in Darby, PA. ECS OST provides a safe and nurturing environment, enrichment activities, academic assistance, field trips, service learning, physical activity, and nutritious snacks and meals in order to support children’s development and reinforce academic skills. SDP classroom curricula in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (known as STEAM) are reinforced through project-based learning and the contracting of expert consultants. The program has a strong commitment to the whole family not just to the child.  During the school year the program operates Monday through Friday from 2:30PM to 6:00PM (hours vary based on location) for a total of 15-20 hours per week. Additional hours may be required during school half days. During the summer the camp programs operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a total of 40 hours per week for six weeks. 
This is the perfect opportunity for retired educators, part-time students or anyone who loves working with children and who is available during the program ours. Primary Functions:
<ul>
<li>Supervise children in the OST Program.</li>
<li>Assist with the implementation of daily program activities in the OST Program.</li>
<li>Implement and track structure activity projects. </li>
<li>Provide academic assistance for children and youth in OST Program. </li>
<li>Champion the ECS Path to Prosperity model (adapted from EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring Model®) throughout all of ECS by providing peer coaching, team support and Prosperity Model coaching as part of participant services. </li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma and two (2) years/2500 hours of experience with children OR High school diploma, 15 credit hours from an accredited college in education or human services field and one (1) year experience with children OR High school diploma and 30 credit hours from an accredited college in education or human services field. Associates degree in related discipline is highly desired. </li>
<li>All OST Employees are required to have or acquire PA related background clearances prior to beginning work</li>
<li>Good oral and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Classroom and behavioral management skills.</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of and experience working with children and youth.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain a flexible schedule (e.g. able to work half days, professional development, and attend agency meetings).</li>
<li>Ability to relate and work with culturally diverse children and families in a helpful and non-judgmental manner. </li>
<li>Requires excellent relationship building and critical thinking skills</li>
</ul>
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Create and implement activities for children and youth contributing to improved self-esteem, school performance, and daily functioning in the family, school, and community.</li>
<li>Engage OST Middle School youth in formal and informal instruction with academic and enrichment activities.</li>
<li>Be knowledgeable of mandated reporter regulations, trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques and crisis management (conflict resolution).</li>
<li>Assist with meals and snacks.</li>
<li>Maintain OST Program in a clean and safe manner.</li>
<li>Maintain participant and staff confidentiality.</li>
<li>Assist Coordinator in retrieving and managing program supplies. </li>
<li>Must be able to work the shifts as required to ensure program ratios are met</li>
<li>Observe, assess and communicate relevant information pertaining to program participants, incidents and locations</li>
<li>Must attend all compliance related training </li>
</ul>

Starting rate of $18.54 per hour, hiring and quarterly bonuses, transportation/cellphone subsidy; 401(k) retirement plan; tuition reimbursement; student loan forgiveness; adoption assistance; first time home owner assistance; and ability to accrue sick leave.
