Position Summary
Justice North seeks an Immigration Staff Attorney to provide direct legal representation as part of the organizations newly established Immigration Law Unit. This position will focus on immigration legal servicespermittedunder Legal Services Corporation (LSC) regulations, with an emphasis on humanitarian and family-based relief for eligible clients.
 
Justice North will offer refugee and immigrant services includingassistancewith:
<ul>
<li>permanent residence applications,</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>naturalization and citizenship applications,</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>applications for victims of domestic violence and violent crimes,</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>replacement of lost/stolen/expired immigration documents, and</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>limited family visa petitions. </li>

Justice North will participatein MinnesotasImmigration Hub,a statewide collaboration expanding access to high-quality immigration legal services for immigrant and New American communities. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with legal aid and community partners to serve rural and underserved areas across Greater Minnesota.
 
The preferred location for this position isClay County (Moorhead),but other locations within the 33 county Justice North service area would be considered. The office the attorneyresidesclosest to willserve as the attorneys primary base for in-person work, collaboration, supervision, and community engagement. While some work may be completed remotely, a consistent physical presence isrequiredfor client meetings, outreach, court appearances, trainings, and partnership development.
 
This position offers a unique opportunity to help build a new practice area within Justice North while serving immigrant communities in a large, rural service area.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Immigration Staff Attorney will manage an assigned caseload and provide high-quality, client-centered immigration legal services to eligible clients, including representation andadvice inLSC-permitted immigration matters,such as: 
<ul>
<li>Family-based immigration petitions and applications;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Immigration relief for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and other serious crimes, including VAWA self-petitions and U visa-related representation;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) matters;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications and renewals, where permitted;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Lawful permanent resident-related matters, including adjustment of status and naturalization;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Immigration-related legal issues connected to housing stability, family safety, and access to public benefits, consistent with LSC regulations.</li>
</ul>
 
Additionalresponsibilities include:
<ul>
<li>Representingclients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and other administrative agencies, and appearing in immigration court where permitted andappropriate;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Conducting legal research and applying sound legal analysis to support effective advocacy and durable outcomes;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Collaborating closely with paralegals, interpreters, and other support staff, includingappropriate taskdelegation and supervision;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Participating in community legal education, outreach events, and legal clinics serving immigrant and New American communities;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Building andmaintainingpartnerships with community organizations, service providers, and advocacy groups;</li>
</ul>

<li>Holistically screening clients for multiple, intersecting legal issues and coordinating referrals within Justice North asappropriate;</li>

<li>Complying withtimekeeping requirements, LSC regulations, grant conditions, and Justice North policies and procedures;</li>

<li>Participating in special projects and program development activities related to the growth of the Immigration Law Unit.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Licensed to practice law in Minnesota, eligible for admission by motion or reciprocity, or willing to take the next scheduled Minnesota Bar Examination;</li>

<li>Immigration law experience preferred;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income, immigrant, and vulnerable populations;</li>

Working Conditions
This position is hybrid/remote with required in-person office days, client meetings, outreach events, trainings, and court or agency appearances. Regular travel within the service area isrequired, along with occasional evening or weekend hours to support clinics or outreach activities.
 
Compensation and Benefits

About The Role: As a Scale Technician, you will be installing, calibrating, and repairing various types of scales and weighing systems. From bench scales to truck scales, you'll ensure the accuracy of instruments that businesses rely on to operate daily.
Your Key Responsibilities:

<li>Installing, calibrating, servicing, and repairing various types of scales and weighing systems.</li>
<li>Documenting calibration and repair actions by completing inspection checklists and forms timely and accurate.</li>
<li>Provide excellent service while interacting with customers and teammates.</li>
</ul>
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
<ul>
<li>A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a certificate or 2-year degree in a technical field is a plus.</li>
<li>Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.</li>
<li>1-2 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, industrial, electrical, or a similar field is a plus.</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Willingness to learn and work well with others including teammates, sales managers, and customers to get the job done safely and accurately the first time.</li>
<li>Clean driving record and ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL.</li>
<li>Ability to work beyond the typical schedule of Monday through Friday for eight hours. Sometimes staying a little later to finish a job or occasionally being called for assistance on a weekend is required since our scales are critical for businesses to operate.</li>
<li>Above all, a safety mindset. Meaning that we are looking for those who take safety personally regardless of whether at work, at home, or behind the wheel, and are not afraid to speak up to protect themselves, co-workers, or customers.</li>
