Job Description Shape the Next Generation of Maintenance Talent

As the Industrial Electrical & I&C Training Specialist for Pro Academy, you are the subject-matter expert who turns complex theory into confident, real-world practice. Reporting to the Director of Academic Affairs and partnering closely with the Senior Training Instructor, you will deliver exceptional learning experiences, refine existing content, and build new curricula that raise the standard for maintenance education.

A Day in the Role

Morning: You prep interactive labs and finalize lecture notes, ensuring course materials align with OSHA, NFPA, and NEC requirements and OEM specifications.

Midday: You lead a cohort through electrical, fluid power, and instrumentation & controls scenarios—facilitating hands-on troubleshooting, coaching, and assessments.

Afternoon: You update simulations and validation tests based on feedback, collaborate with the Senior Training Instructor on course improvements, and evaluate new software and collaboration tools to enrich delivery.

Some weeks you travel > 50% to customer facilities, adapting to changing schedules to deliver on-site instruction and maintain a world-class learner experience.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver all assigned Pro Academy course content to ensure every learner receives a world-class training experience.
  • Design, evolve, and document curricula across general maintenance & safety, electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and instrumentation & controls.
  • Ensure training materials comply with industry standards, OEM specifications, safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, NEC), and company policies.
  • Maintain and refresh course materials, lab simulations, assessments, and validation instruments as technologies and regulations change.
  • Measure training effectiveness via assessments, validation scores, and customer feedback; use insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the SME for all electrical and instrumentation & controls curricula and as an instructor across all related Pro Academy content areas.
  • Co-author and edit outlines, lectures, lab exercises, and validation tests; help select software and collaboration platforms that enhance learning.

Qualifications

  • HS/GED with 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance setting (required).
  • Bachelor's in electrical or controls engineering; or Journeyman Licensed Electrician, Controls Engineer, or equivalent background with PLC programming on CPUs and HMIs.
  • 2+ years guiding others through training, mentoring, coaching, or team leadership.
  • Exceptional organization and time management; able to juggle priorities without sacrificing accuracy or timeliness.
  • Familiarity with educational processes and maintenance department operations.
  • Clear, confident communication skills—written and verbal—at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated passion for building career pathways and elevating technician capability.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (G Suite).

Travel & Schedule
