Job DescriptionJob Summary: Sewing Machine Technician: We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Technician to join our maintenance and repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of sewing machines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and experience with appliance repair and installation. Responsibilities: Sewing Machine Technician:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in sewing machines using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform repairs on sewing machines, including replacing parts, adjusting components, and ensuring proper operation.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Install new sewing machines and related equipment following manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment effectively during repair and installation tasks.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment problems by interpreting schematics, ladder diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Maintain detailed service records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
- Operate company vehicles such as box trucks for delivery or field service calls when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Assist with inventory management of spare parts and tools required for ongoing maintenance tasks.
Qualifications: Sewing Machine Technician:
- Proven experience in appliance repair, equipment troubleshooting, or mechanical maintenance with sewing machines or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience; familiarity with electrical work and plumbing is advantageous.
- Ability to read schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment used in appliance repair.
- Experience operating company vehicles such as box trucks or similar delivery vehicles.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) procedures in a field service environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently in the field or shop setting while adhering to safety protocols.
