We are looking for a Senior Fire Alarm Service Technician / Programmer to join a growing fire alarm team. This is a senior level position focused on programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and service of commercial fire alarm systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical technician who can work independently in the field, diagnose problems, program systems, and take an engineered design through final field execution.

Responsibilities

  • Program, commission, troubleshoot, and service commercial fire alarm systems

  • Work primarily with Notifier, Fire Lite, Potter, and similar commercial fire alarm platforms

  • Take engineered fire alarm designs into the field and complete programming and system startup

  • Diagnose and resolve issues at the panel, device, circuit, and system level

  • Perform service calls, system modifications, upgrades, testing, and repairs

  • Read and interpret fire alarm drawings and understand system sequence of operations

  • Work independently while communicating effectively with customers, project teams, and other technicians

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to developing fire alarm technicians

  • Perform approximately 80% technical service, programming, and troubleshooting work with approximately 20% installation and cabling support as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial fire alarm experience

  • Hands on programming experience preferred

  • Advanced service and troubleshooting experience will also be considered for technicians who are looking to expand their programming capabilities

  • Experience with Notifier, Fire Lite, Potter, or comparable commercial fire alarm systems

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field

  • Ability to read drawings and understand engineered fire alarm systems

  • Professional communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont

  • Massachusetts Class D license preferred

  • Candidates currently working toward a Massachusetts Class D license will also be considered
